Spain and UK respond to Paris terror attacks

S PARIS REMAINS in a state of shock over seven terrorist attacks that killed at least 132 people and injured over 352 on Friday night, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy spoke out on Saturday to express solidarity with France and to allay fears of potential attacks on Spanish soil. “We want to tell our French friends that we are by their side, that they can count on us,” said Rajoy in a morning address at La Moncloa prime ministerial palace. “There is no cause that can justify yesterday’s atrocity. We are not facing a war of religions, but a battle between civilization and barbarity,” he added. “Today, we are all France.”

At the time of going to press, French media reported that three brothers were involved in the attacks and one may remain at large. They are said to be:Ibrahim Saleh ‐ who died in Paris Mohammed Saleh ‐ who is being questioned by the police, and Abdeslam Saleh ‐ who is on the run. According to French newspaper Le Monde, the names of two of the three were found on the rental contracts for two cars used by the gunmen ‐ a grey Polo found near the Bataclan concert hall where 89 died and a black Seat used in gun attacks on at least two restaurants and which police discovered late on Saturday night.
It contained three loaded Kalashnikovs and a "black rucksack" whose contents are unknown. There were initial reports of eight attackers but only seven have died after six blew themselves up and another was shot dead by police. There are three Belgian cars implicated in the Paris attacks. One is a black Seat found near the Pere‐Lachaise cemetery in the French capital. The second is a grey Polo seized in front of the Bataclan on Saturday. The third is a grey Golf that was seized on Saturday night during police operations in an area of Brussels, which BFM TV said is believed to have been used by three individuals to go back from France to Belgium.
