Rodney requested that their money be returned immediately, but instead was offered a different property but told it was an additional 40,000 euros over the price of their initial house and this house was only in the early stages of construction.

Partners Rodney Fildes and Brenda Kershaw came to Spain in 2003 and fell in love with a rural plot to be developed by Monte Puchol in the Jalon Valley. The company referred them to a local solicitor, which, given the couple were still living in the UK at the time, arranged power of attorney to be able to complete the necessary steps on their behalf.
