Chairman and CEO Message
As your community partner and energy provider, Cobb EMC remains dedicated to delivering reliable power, affordable rates, and innovative, sustainable energy solutions while making a positive impact on our community. Our unwavering commitment is reflected in our achievements and initiatives throughout 2023 and 2024.
Power You Can Rely On
Delivering reliable power is our top priority, and we continuously strive to achieve this goal. We work to enhance our infrastructure, trim miles of right-of-way and regularly review our disaster response plans to efficiently restore power after unpredictable events.
When outages do occur, our line crews work to assess damage, determine the cause of the outage and restore power to all members impacted safely and efficiently. This year, we inspected miles of power lines by
incorporating drone technology to help maintain the integrity of our infrastructure and proactively address any potential issues. Our outage notification tools kept members informed with real-time updates on estimated restoration times and status.
These efforts have earned Cobb EMC the national #1 ranking for both restoring outages quickly and delivering reliable power* — an achievement we are immensely proud of.
Our Commitment to Low Rates and Exceptional Value
For two consecutive years, Cobb EMC has held the title of Georgia’s #1 lowest rates in the state among all 94 electric utilities.** Our members enjoy $430 in annual savings when compared to other electric bills in Georgia. This achievement stems from our commitment to lowering costs for our members, which includes strategically collaborating with wholesale power providers to secure the most competitive rates available.
Georgia’sLowestRates TwoYears Running ** #1
Since 2013, we have returned nearly $61 million to our members through Wholesale Power Cost Adjustment (WPA) credits that appear on your bill, as well as $43.9 million in capital credits since 2021. Plus, our partnership with Gas South helps keep Cobb EMC strong by returning its profits to Cobb EMC, which helps keep electric rates low and reliability solid. Together we save you money. All these efforts demonstrate our dedication to providing exceptional value without compromising on reliability or service.
Your Clean Energy Partner
Cobb EMC is committed to a sustainable and clean energy future. In 2023, we made significant strides by expanding our solar energy capacity to nearly 200 MWAC, integrating even more electric vehicles into our fleet and hosting six free events to educate community members on the benefits of clean energy.
Since its inception, our on-campus clean energy microgrid has generated 8,689,340 kWh using a combination of sustainable energy sources to effectively help power our business. This microgrid not only supports our operations but also provides insights on the impact of renewable energy and cost reduction strategies. These ongoing efforts underscore our goal to reduce carbon emissions by 75% and increase our renewable energy portfolio by 200% by the year 2030. Through these initiatives, we are paving the way for a cleaner, more sustainable future for our community.
As we look ahead, our commitment to delivering reliable, affordable power remains steadfast. Equally important is our dedication to enriching the communities we serve. Through extensive support for local nonprofits and diverse community programs, we strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our members. We are proud to serve you and look forward to continuing this journey together, ensuring your energy needs and our community’s well-being are met with excellence.

Power You Can Rely On
Reliability is more than just a goal at Cobb EMC – it’s a commitment. We recognize that dependable power is essential to keep your life running smoothly and efficiently. Here’s how we’re turning this commitment into reality:
Striving for Uninterrupted Power
Investments in our infrastructure and smart grid technology help us prevent outages and restore power to as many members as quickly as possible in the event of an outage. Our auto-recovery system ties our more than 200 distribution circuits together, improving response time and ensuring that power can be delivered. Since 2006, we’ve leveraged this technology to restore power in less than 5 minutes to more than 800,000 members cumulatively.
Right-of-Way Maintenance
Every year, we proactively trim 400 miles of rightof-way to ensure that branches stay clear of power lines. This maintenance significantly reduces the likelihood of interruptions, ensuring that our
Harnessing Drone Technology
We’ve adopted cutting-edge drone technology to enhance our service capabilities. Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) enabled us to inspect approximately 900 miles of power lines swiftly and cost-effectively. This technology allows us to proactively address any potential issues throughout our infrastructure.
