Same Power. Different Hour.
WE ARE HERE FOR YOU, MEETING YOUR ENERGY NEEDS To better serve you, Cobb EMC must have electricity ready at all times to meet everyone’s maximum needs during peak hours. Over the last several years, Cobb EMC’s focus has been to look for ways to diversify our energy mix and expand our energy portfolio in an effort to keep costs as low as possible for our members.
What does this mean to you, our member? Every member has a different need for energy at different times. Cobb EMC must have available resources (capacity) on standby to meet every member’s maximum needs during peak hours. We must purchase electricity from several sources to meet our system needs. The power then flows to our members’ homes through our power distribution systems, keeping the lights on 24/7, 365.
Important alerts Visit www.cobbemc.com/smartchoice to sign up for Cobb EMC newsletters and updates to stay informed about peak notification days. This way, you will know when to use your power at different hours and when to save energy during peak conservation hours. And don’t forget to download the SmartHub® app today! The online and mobile application allows you to easily and securely pay your electric bill, monitor daily and hourly energy use and more.

Are your ducts in a row? Your air ducts are one of the most important systems in your home, and if the ducts are poorly sealed or insulated they are likely contributing to high energy bills. Minor duct repair tips from the U.S. Department of Energy: Check your ducts for air leaks. First, look for sections that should be joined but have separated and then look for obvious holes. Avoid cloth-backed, rubber adhesive duct tape as it tends to fail quickly. Instead, use mastic, butyl tape, foil tape or other heat-approved tapes. Look for tape with the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) logo. Get professional help when doing ductwork. A qualified professional should always perform changes and repairs to a duct system.
