ENERGY EFFICIENCY TIP
Pre-cool your home on hot summer days and remember to turn your thermostat up during the middle of the day. Complete a home energy assessment to determine which parts of your house use the most energy and learn the best ways to cut energy costs. cobbemc.com/save
SAFE DIGGING DAY
August 11 is 811 Day. Remember, the law requires that you call 811 to have underground utility lines marked before you break ground. That’s true whether you’re a homeowner setting a fencepost or a contractor conducting a large excavation. You can also enter your request at call811.com

DISTRICTS UPDATE
Our district lines have been updated to balance membership across our nine board districts. cobbemc.com/district
Cobb EMC was ranked #1 in Georgia for having the lowest electric rates in the state among all electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) according to the Georgia Public Service Commission’s winter 2023 rate survey. In July we gave back $5 million to our members through a Wholesale Power Adjustment (WPA) credit. Since 2013 we have given $43 million back to members through WPA credits. In 2021 and 2022 Cobb EMC protected members from $27 million in rising wholesale power costs with diligent internal cost controls and the help of dividends received from Gas South, our wholly owned subsidiary. Thanks to leadership planning, securing future power needs and operating efficiently, our board voted to return $15 million in excess money - known as capital credits - to you and other members who received electric service from Cobb EMC in 2019 and/or 2020.
