How does it work?

The Intelligent Digital-OnBoard Repeater is connected to one donor antenna placed outside of the vehicle or vessel and the leakage cable or antennas in the area to be covered. The target is to overcome the high penetration losses of the thermal insulated windows or metal wall material and provide the mobile device with a coverage level equal to the outside.

A prominent located donor antenna further helps to improve the signal level. GPS based changes of the band configuration, gain, power and frequencies is supported. The exact position of the repeater can be monitored remotely. The units connect through IP or wireless modem using standard SNMP.

An internal web server provides an efficient user interface locally and remotely. Fleet management can be done using a SNMP umbrella system, or, more comfortable, using Cobham Wireless’ AEM (Active Element Manager). To minimize the risk of interference with existing GSM-R infrastructure Cobham Wireless offers a dedicated optional notch filter.
