utprosim Vision The Virginia Tech Alumni Association aspires to be a primary linkage between the university and its family of alumni across the globe, to commit them to the university's mission of life long learning, discovery and engagement, and to attract them to university service.
Mission The Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association provides a communication and support system between the alumni students, parents and the community as a whole. It is our goal to assist our young students to successfully make the transition to university life through both emotional and financial support.
Purpose Our primary function is to help promote Virginia Tech and provide scholarship assistance to qualified students from the Middle Tennessee area accepted to and attending Virginia Tech. To date we have provided nearly $50,000 in scholarship and have endowed an additional $50,000 annuity to ensure scholarships will continue in perpetuity.
tournamentrules Scramble Format Each player tees off from his or her respective tee. The team chooses the best ball and all hit again within one club-length from that spot (no nearer to the hole). If the “chosen best ball is in the rough or bunker, all must hit from the rough or bunker. Each player may lift, clean, and place his/her ball. Continue until the ball is holed-out. On the green, each player must place his ball within two inches of the selected best ball (no nearer to the hole). Two-putt maximum per green will apply this year.

Shot Challenges No one is eligible to win more than one one-shot challenge including “Closest to the Pin,” “Longest Drive,” or “Predict Your Distance.” If more than one player gets a “Hole-in-One” challenge, only the first to get the “Hole-in-One” wins the prize.
Mulligans One mulligan package per player may be purchased prior to start of play. Mulligans may be substituted for any shot on the course except any “Hole-in-One-Give-Away” holes or to win any hole prize. Once a mulligan is played, it becomes the ball in play for that player. A mulligan package entitles a player to two mulligans. If one player on a team is absent, the remaining players may alternate shots for that player (exception noted below).
Rules for Golf Professionals Professionals must play from the blue tees and are not eligible for any of the “Hole-in-One” competitions. In the case of only three players in a group, the professional can only hit one shot per “shot group” and the other players must hit in rotation. After completing your round, please sign the scorecard and give to the scorekeeper. Then enjoy your Famous Dave’s BBQ meal and check out our auction and items for sale. Door prizes will be chosen by random drawing and you must be present to win.
Please Keep Up With the Team in Front of You Please be patient and no practice putting on the course during play.
Men will play from the WHITE TEES. Male seniors (70+) must play from the WHITE TEES on any “Hole-in-One” hole if they want to qualify for a prize for that specific hole (requirement of our Insurance Underwriters). Seniors may play from the GREEN TEES for all other “shot challenge holes” including designated “Closest to the Pin,” “Longest Drive,” and “Predict Your Distance” holes. Otherwise, seniors may play from the senior tees (GREEN TEES). Ladies may play from the RED TEES.

Without your support, time, interest, and financial assistance, this tournament would not be possible. We are thankful for each one of you and so are the students and the future Hokies that will be the recipients of our scholarship dollars. We can provide this program only as long as people like you continue to provide time and financial support. We strongly urge everyone to support our sponsors with your business. When you do business with them, please tell them that their Virginia Tech support made a difference. We want all sponsors to clearly see a return on their investment. If you’re a Hokie, please shake their hands and welcome them to our Annual Hokie Golf Scramble! We would also like to thank all the Hokies who took time out of their busy lives to help with the success of this event. Thanks for your time, dedication and tremendous display of Hokie Pride. This is what being a Hokie is all about. On behalf of the Hokie Nation and especially the Middle Tennessee Chapter...
