October 21, 2014 The Coffee Quality Institute (CQI) is looking for Green Coffee Buyers to participate in a conference and coffee buyer’s event on a volunteer assignment in Yemen in early December 2014. Volunteer Qualifications and Role: CQI is seeking highly qualified, experienced green coffee buyers with knowledge of specialty coffee standards, naturals, consumer trends and quality improvement initiatives. Volunteers must be seasoned travelers and provide references; travel will occur between December 5 and 12, 2014. The coffee buyer will provide expertise to building public-private partnerships between farmers, coffee exporters and importers, and help build a tangible understanding of what is needed to add value to Yemeni coffee exports. Buyers will be expected to address this topic during the event. This event will take place in Sana’a exclusively and follow a three-day agenda; all security measures will be taken to ensure guests safety, and there will be no travel outside of Sana’a. CQI will coordinate the logistics and pay all the expenses as part of the Coffee Corps™ Program. Security will be managed by a vetted, experienced security company; extra measures are in place to move guests safely around Sana’a.
