With themes of forest and coastal waters as inspiration, Guildford Town Centre is about to enter a new cycle of organic growth—bringing the community together to share a timeless contemporary space that invites people to gather‌and to linger.

EXTERIOR Making an Entrance For more than 40 years, Guildford Town Centre has had a profound impact on the community of Surrey—and soon it will have the visual impact to match. The two-level expansion of the centre will include refurbishment of the existing building façade featuring a warmer colour palette highlighted by more contemporary entrance canopies. The beautiful lower level entry is an artful confluence of soft curves and strong angles, at once complementing and enhancing the centre’s rectilinear forms. The new rounded shapes not only create a focal point, but combined with a nature walk, also encourage movement around the building and up the terraced steps. A dramatic basalt water feature adds the finishing touch, cascading from the upper to lower plaza—and providing the perfect soundtrack to a relaxing day of shopping and socializing. • Warm colours and clean lines will be reflected in updates to the existing façade • Contemporary canopies bring focus to entrances

CENTRE COURT The Centre of It All As a primary focal point of the centre and a popular community gathering place, Centre Court will immerse shoppers in soaring spaces and reflective surfaces. A single dramatic floor opening will unify two levels into one inviting, open space infused with natural light. Natural woodcovered columns topped by backlit fabric canopies evoke old-growth forest. And at the heart of it all, a new glass-enclosed elevator seduces the senses with a two-storey water wall surrounded by a reflecting pool with bench seating—the perfect place to sit and…well…reflect. • Wood, glass and mosaic tile finishes • Upper level media wall framed by a vertical garden • Lower level café area to invite relaxation • Accent lighting on reflective surfaces

FOOD COURT A Sea of Change for Centre Dining Anchored by a soothing coastal theme, the new Food Court will offer a multitude of inspired dining options and relaxing seating groups for guests. The space is unified by a palette of translucent blues, greens and whites—the porcelain floor tiles, mosaic columns, bench fabrics and other materials are alive with patterns that evoke the ripples, swirls and waves of seawater. Circular ceilings and drywall “coves” with airy, diffused lighting complete the picture. • Tranquil, coastal-inspired design • Palette of blues, greens and whites • Circular elements evoke tidal pools • Variety of seating options from plush banquettes to family-style tables allows for an enjoyable dining experience

COMMON AREA
A Most Uncommon Common Area From flagship to food court and beyond, it’s our goal not just to move customers through the centre—but to truly transport them. With this in mind, the concourses and common spaces are designed to take shoppers on a soothing, elemental journey through the dappled light of an old-growth forest. Columns wrapped in warmtoned natural wood disappear into ethereal fabric canopies…abstract light features float through both levels like clouds building on the horizon…and all is bathed in the natural luminescence provided by our skylights. A timeless yet contemporary colour palette accentuated with fresh tiles and finishes and comfortably appointed seating groups will transform the interior spaces and unify the entire centre. • An artful, figurative forest

It’s what inspires us to live here, and it’s what inspired us to reimagine one of the area’s most beloved public spaces. By bringing the outside into this building, we hope to infuse each and every visitor with the spirit of this inspiring area. While its physical attributes may change, Guildford Town Centre’s fundamental vision remains the same: to be a cornerstone of the Surrey community, inside and out.
