unique perspectives...fresh, new appeal FROM THE EDITOR

For the shortest month, there is sure a lot going on in February. The book I am most excited about is Sara Miles’ City of God. It got a lot of attention in hardcover and now it is finally in paperback. It’s perfect for Lent, as Ash Wednesday in 2012 is a backdrop for Miles’ amazing story and ministry. I have several other Lenten and Easter selections to help prepare for the season—some with a bit of a twist. (For instance, there’s a book with an Oscar Wilde essay!) The book everyone has their eye on right now and that’s in great demand is The God We Can Know by Rob Fuquay, published by the Upper Room. There are also several selections for Black History month. My favorite is A Child Shall Lead Them—a book I find especially relevant in terms of what we see going on in our cities today. So snuggle up with a book while it is so cold out. Before you know it, there will be a whole new Kainos catalog for March. As always—let me know your thoughts. Mary mmccarthy@cokesbury.com
