he local languages Papiamento and
Dutch are the official languages of Aruba, but most Arubans speak and understand a minimum of four languages including English and Spanish. Although Papiamento was in use as the native language for 300 years, it was only declared as an official language, alongside Dutch, as of March 19, 2003.

Papiamento is a lyrical language that evolved from Spanish and Portuguese, Dutch, some French, English, and a smattering of African languages. The language is thought to have evolved in Curacao during the 16th century, when slaves and their Spanish owners developed common ground in which to communicate. Either way, there is a unique aspect about the language that is unmistaken and rather delightful; Funny in some ways and very professional in others. So, wherever you are on the island you can use a few of the common local lingo. To the start of a good day for you or for someone else, be sure to greet by saying “Bon dia”. Say that, with a smile, and you'll be sure to put a ray of sunshine in anyone’s day, including your own. For something a little more romantic try, “Mi ta stimabo”, which means “I love you” when referring to your partner. These are just a few ways in which we stay in touch here in Aruba.

arents who wish to pry their kids from the television or lure them away
from the gaming console may want to consider placing a play set outside. Usually found in neighborhood parks and apartment complexes, play grounds have developed from the simple metal swing set or perhaps a single slide to some complicated apparatus made from plastic with tunnels, climbing walls, bridges, multiple swings and slides. Adults and children can enjoy backyard play sets together for a long time with safety in mind, adding on different equipment as the children grow older. It is a good way for youngsters to exercise and broaden their creativeness with their friends in their own surroundings. You need to make certain children have sufficient room all around the playground to allow them to frolic freely, without needing to be worried about falling into fences, patio's or mother's flower beds. Children, especially younger ones, ought to be supervised once they play. A play area for the children in your backyard is definitely a good consideration to have good quality family time and to keep the children fit and healthy and having fun within the safety of the family home. The kids will have those memories to cherish even as they get older.
