BUILDING A REAL ESTATE LEGACY A SOLID FOUNDATION
It seems like yesterday. As a kid I’d sit in a model home where my dad sold for Bonny Builders. What I remember most of all was his enthusiam and passion, which I must say, was extremely contagious. That was in the 1960’s. For over 50 years he did his thing, founding Gazzo Realty while representing builders, and I jumped on board with him after graduating from Padua High School in 1974. I’ve seen alot and learned even more over the past 40+ years, my dad being my mentor while providing a “solid foundation.” His words to this day still echo with me, ALWAYS stressing the importance of honesty, being on time, and taking care of people. His reputation meant more to him than anything, and I must say that I feel the same way. After several years of handling new home sales for Parkview Homes, we established our own building company which was invaluable for many reasons, namely the importance of communication and attention to details. Understanding not only new construction but what goes into a home and its various components is priceless in today’s everchanging and demanding market. I laugh to myself at times when people say today that they’re “paperless” due to today’s technology. For 50 years, beginning in 1955, my dad was paperless as well. He always did business with a handshake! Because of him, I am proud to say I operate the same way.

FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, “GIVING BACK” WAS INSTILLED IN ME FROM MY FATHER
BASEBALL HERITAGE MUSEUM AT HISTORIC LEAGUE PARK You will find me volunteering my time as Director of Education at the Baseball Heritage Museum where I find teaching art both fulfilling and gratifying. I tell everyone that we all have a “gift” and finding that gift is part of our journey. Working with the kids is just a small part of what we do at the Museum, but seeing their excitement is truly special. One student, a 12 year old boy, found his gift while doing a portrait of the Cleveland Indians’ Francisco Lindor. From the original portrait, we produced only 12 of them, auctioning them off for charity. All were signed by Londor, including the original, which will be on display at The Smithsonian beginning October of 2020.
PROJECT SAVE WITH CARL COOK I first met Carl several years ago, a man whose mission is to help the homeless and those living in poverty. His two organizations, “Project Save” and “The Courage to Change” have brought to the forefront the importance of reaching out to those in need, and real estate along with Coldwell Banker has given me the opportunity to provide Carl with clothing, furniture, and toys amongst other things through multiple efforts of collaboration. I’ve been both fortunate and grateful to be able to withness an amazing “silent server” throughout our community, and fortunate as well to have countless agents in our company contribute to his amazing cause. His story is compelling to say the least, and I will always consider Carl a friend and brother.
CLEVELAND CLINIC CHILDRENS Coldwell Banker Schmidt Family of Companies and the Cleveland Indians have long collaborated with Cleveland Clinic to support children in need, along with their families. Year after year, our annunal fundraiser has been nothing short of a huge success, raising an average of $30-$40,000 each year. The silent auction includes countless items donated by our real estate family, our various vendors and the Cleveland Indians, just to name a few. Some of the items include sports memorabilia, original artwork, vacation spots and “throwing out the first pitch” each year. Just last year, 1 of the 12 “limited edition” Francisco Lindor prints brought an amaing $2,000, with all monies going to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s event.

As the saying goes, “trust is earned” and over the past two decades, the integrity you have displayed has certainly earned mine. Your guidance and counsel on both sides of the listings and purchases over the years has resulted in fair and favorable home sales. Even when my circumstances were less than favorable and I needed to get into and out of a home fairly quickly; you found a home that was affordable on the way in and actually allowed for a profit on the way out just two years later. Your service has certainly been more than sticking a sign in the front yard and posting the listing on the MLS. In fact, the assistance you provided with the remodeling of that home made me feel like I was on an episode of one of the cable TV home remodeling shows. So thank you, Joe, for taking the time to research the market and determine my family’s needs so you were able to put me into homes that suited us and protected me financially. It is obvious that today’s market requires experience, understanding and the type of integrity that can preserve relationships for over twenty years. I am thankful that I found you for that first listing years ago, and thankful that you possess all of those qualities.

Thank you for your professional manner in which you assisted in the details of our transaction and for all you have done to make this a smooth transition for both buyer and seller. Thank you for your part in this successful closing. I look forward to working with you again in the near future.
Again I just wanted to say “thank you” for going above and beyond. Not only did the house sell quickly but I was able to leverage your extensive network when their home inspection came back with concerns. Without your involvment, this house closing would have never happened. Only you could know an old Russian who could fix the water problem in the basement and an old school Italian who could fix the mold in the attic. Both contractors were fantastic and far less expensive than I could have found the traditional way. This is the second home you have sold (the first one sold in one day) for us and both my wife and I appreciate your efforts. I would strongly recommend your services.

We appreciate working with sales professionals who can provide a positive experience. The success of our agents is dependent on good working relationships with co-broking agents. We recognize this and want to thank you for making this transaction an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Our office looks forward to working with you again soon.
