Q: Is there a specialty your area is known for?

A: Zanzibar is famously known as the “Island of Spices” due to its rich array of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, and clove, which are a big part of our heritage and draw visitors from all over. Beyond spices, we’re also celebrated for our stunning white sandy beaches and the clear turquoise blue waters that make this place a little slice of paradise.
