ENO ‘Dreamers’ Campaign

ENO is a popular brand among outdoorsmen and adventurists. They make high quality hammocks, easy for setting up in any situation. The products are becoming popular for festival goers, taking on a new trend. The Dreamers campaign is created to inspire a new audience. The logo tells what ENO can do for festival attendees, particularly younger audiences. The goal of the campaign is to promote the products in a new way. The campaign will be featured at events, informing audiences to participate in the trend. Designated areas using the slogan, “under the treetops” will contain promotional items such as water bottles and glowsticks to heighten the festival experience. A product line inspired by the branding of the campaign features hammocks with more vibrant patterns than the products already on the market in order to blend in with the vibrant festival atmosphere.

Dodie

Branding Dodie is a songwriter, blogger, and content creator. She writes songs about her personal life experiences, often using the ukulele and piano. This project was created to match her unique style and upbeat character. She appears to her viewers as down to earth, therefore the use of a natural color scheme with a slight pop of color was important. Flower petals, leaves and stems were found and photographed, then separated into layers to use as the main design element. Some of the stems are added to her already existing logo. The petals and leaves are used in the animated video that plays along to her music. The animation needs to be simple, stepping away from anything too quick. In the video, petals and leaves fall slowly as the logo goes along with the beat.

Camp Out Packaging

Camp Out is aimed for children between the ages of eight and eleven. The concept for this project is aimed specifically for children who are getting ready to go to summer camp, particularly first timers. To make the experience more exciting and less intimidating, Camp Out sends kits containing items that make going to camp easier. Three small packages are created, containing personalized labels, and luggage tags. The kit also comes with a packing list. The idea is to send the kits out in the months leading up to camp to help the campers and families prepare. Each package serves as a storage container for the labels. They are small in size, and labels can be easily pulled out when needed. While each of the packages are meant to hold the items in the kit, they are also decorative. Campers can use the tents (packages) as a display on the mat that is included, which represents a campground. On the packaging design, patterns are made of elements that have to do with what is inside each package. Color choices are vibrant and retro, taken from bright colors found in tents and outdoor gear, taking away aspects of the classic summer camp environment.

Pier 101 Branding

Pier 101 is a restaurant located on the famous pier of Folly Beach, SC. Known for it’s ocean views, food and general beach atmosphere; locals and tourists come and take in the surroundings. Central to the action of downtown Folly Beach, the restaurant often hosts events. Once home to a classic 60s beach atmosphere, the location is still a prime spot for surfing in the Charleston area. This project rebrands Pier 101 in a way that brings back the nostalgia of the past by incorporating retro aspects. Most of the design elements are inspired by old wooden surfboards, often lined by strips of orange and red. Typography in the logo is taken from the styles commonly found in 60s and 70s surf posters. The sketch in the background of the logo represents the famous shape of the Folly pier, an iconic structure in the Charleston area. The website contains two images of the location from the 60s while the center photograph is the current pier. All three images were brought together by the use of Photoshop effects to give it a unified postcard look. One of the images is used on the menu cover with a similar effect. These images of a classic 60s beach day are central to the project’s overall inspiration.

Scribbly Scripty Edutainment App

Scribbly Scripty is created for young kids between ages of five and seven. The app is designed to improve reading skills and encourage creativity. Each character comes with a set of stories. The user will follow the tutorial, where they will draw an illustration on the physical sketchbook provided. Users become illustrators and see their drawings come to life. Drawing is taught through use of shape. The characters each revolve around a certain shape and color scheme. Each design element and component in the app are built off simple shapes, contributing to the idea of constructing through the basis of shapes.

Samsonite Campaign

Samsonite is a luggage company that makes durable, lightweight products, made for easy traveling. The goal in this campaign project is to demonstrate lightweight and hassle-free travel. Three ads each feature a different person with seperate motives for traveling. They each have one thing in common, they are effortlessly traveling with the help of Samsonite luggage. They are taken off the page to show elevation and mystery as to where they are going. The billboard does the same except the person is shown when looking into the sky. The same billboard can be used in the airport in a similar way. The campaign is also featured on luggage carts, found in airports where the target audience is found. The campaign’s heading on the cart demonstrates what the cart does, but also effectively shows the advertisement.

Book Set

Layout Design This project features a set of three classic novels from the 1900s. Each book features cover art with symbolism to each story. The art is made up of components of artwork from several time periods throughout art history. Each of the items featured in the covers symbolize a particular theme from each story. They all are completely different from each other, not sharing any of the same artwork. In order to make each cover cohesive, a frame is used to contain the art. In addition, the cover layout is the same. They all feature a textured background, and follow the same grid.
