The study aims at investigating the myriad oftheories about the 1969 event, when, according to history, Neil Armstrong and his crew on theApollo 11 landedon the Moon. It is of utmost importance to study the history of the Cold War, the conflict between the two major powers of the world at the time, the Soviet Union and United States. This research uses images of the time aiming at better understanding and delving deeper into the Moon and its unmanned missions.

By the middle of the 20th century, the Cold War era was characterized by a dispute between the newest superpowers of the bipolar world of the time, the Soviet Union and the United States. Both had as purpose the supremacy in space technology research and the space exploration. Furthermore, these nation had the objective of developing the first manned space aircraft capable of taking the man to the Moon.

Both countries were considered the most technologically and militarily advancednations at the time, and they could not attack each other because it could cause mutual annihilation, their confrontation was established in space, more specifically a space exploration race. During the period of world polarity, even though it was the first nation to place its name and a man in space, historical factors have never established the Soviet Union as the winner of the race, making the United States always as the winner with only one achievement that even today historians believethathas not happened, the landing of the first man on the Moon.
