WELCOME BACK 2 SCHOOL
EX-COUGAR PRIDE INTERVIEW WITH
SANDRA SANDOVAL SERNA EX COUGAR GENERATION 2000.
August 24th was a special day in our school because we welcomed our students starting a new school year. We saw happy and motivated kids from all levels, who we encouraged to do their best in this new school year. We hope this year will be filled with challenges and success for all of our students. Welcome Back!
Cougar News. How long were you a student at C.A.A? Sandra Sandoval. I was part of C.A.A. since 1st grade of elementary, until I graduated from Jr. High in the year 2000.
WORKSHOP FOR MOMS mi familia, mi empresa, mi agenda personal Considering the important role that moms play in the house and in their families, and how strongly they support all the members of the family and how this role demands being highly organized and always keeping a positive attitude towards life, we prepared a special workshop for them. The activities in this workshop were intended to strengthen family ties and the value of teamwork inside and outside families.

C. N. What memories do you have from C.A.A? S. S. I’ve kept very nice memories of my generation and of every person I met in the school, but what I remember the most are the good times and the joy that I felt while I was a student there. I remember all of my teachers because each one of them taught me something valuable, specially those who were with methe longest such as Miss. Irma, Miss. Blanca, Miss. Barbie and Miss. Mary. I send my love to all of you. C. N. How did being a student at C.A.A. make a difference in you? S. S. Having studied at the C.A.A., a bilingual school with strong values, gave me tools that have been my allies through all my life, thanks to the C.A.A. I learnt how to successfully overcome obstacles in order to reach my goals. C. N. What is your advice for the new generations? S. S. My advice to the new generations is to always be disciplined and obedient, listen to your parents and teachers. This will help you to achieve a positive and orderly life. Remember that being responsible will make it easier to achieve your goals. Persevering and never giving up are the key to success. Being a winner requires sacrifice. Stay close to God and your steps are going to be steady and firm. C. N. What are you currently working on? S. S. Nowadays, since I have a degree in communications, I work in Tv as a news anchor in telediario and Milenio TV.

THE YEAR OF COMPASSION
ENO PROJECT
“Compassion is the response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help.”
WORKING TOGETHER FOR A GREENER WORLD! Environment Online- ENO is a global virtual school and network for sustainable development. Since it was launched in 2000, over 10 0000 schools in 157 countries have joined the cause and taken action to improve the environment by planting trees. This year, our Tree Planting Day took place on September 21st and our main focus was peace. Students and parents worked together planting trees creating awareness while helping the community.
WORLD EDUCATION GAMES 2015 The world’s largest education competition took place from October 13th to 15th, and included a World Math Day, World Literacy Day and World Science Day. Our school joined over 5 million students around the world for this competition under the goal of uniting the world in learning with UNICEF. We want to congratulate Sarah Rangel of 6ºA for getting the 50th place in Mathletics, from 6 million of students in her category.

This year, we are collaborating with UNESCO to be a more compassionate school. The main goal is to teach our community the importance of being compassionate and of helping the people around us. Our students have a double sided bracelet, which they wear everyday as a reminder of their will to carry out an act of compassion and once they achieve this action, the bracelet is turned over.
SCHOOL FOR PARENTS CONFERENCES BEGIN On september 23rd we had our 1st conference of the school year for parents: “La compasión y sus beneficios en la familia y escuela”. In this conference, the parents had the opportunity to experience an emotional and interesting talk; it included activities that helped them understand the value of being compassionate not only to others but also to themselves. The conference was held at the school auditorium at 7:00 p.m. We would like to thank all of the parents that attended this conference.
