Presentation
Writing sketches is always fun, but never easy. Choosing the right setting, the punchlines, and the characters demands a lot from our creativity. Writing a sketch is even more challenging when it has to be in English. The Young Writer project enabled students to think as an author, use their creativity and imagination and create their plot, characters, the setting, and everything that involves a sketch. To help students engage and write better, we read some sketches, watched some videos about it. When students decided on their stories, they started writing the sketches. They also used important tools for writers, such as online translators and good dictionaries. What you will read in this book is a result of a month of hard work, lots of dedication, discussion and teachers’ intervention, making students really think about what they were writing. Some mistakes on the structure and expressions were kept to preserve the students’ writing and show their learning stage. Hope you enjoy reading these stories and remember, they were written by Movers students.

This is a robbery!! Get off the bus, NOW!!!
RAFAEL:
My friend! Do you remember me?
CARLOS:
Yes, I do! But why are you asking me this?
RAFAEL:
Because you were my best friend when we were
children! CARLOS:
This is not important now! THIS IS A ROBBERY!
Everybody left the bus, because Carlos robbed it. But then, less than a kilometre away, Carlos saw Rafa’s twin brother.
(Carlos honks the bus’s horn) Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii RODRIGO:
Stop the bus!!!! This is a robbery!! You lost boy!!

AT THE MALL By Cauã Lima, Lucas Godoy, Anderson Costa Cabral, André Reis Jr. and Heloiza Ruivo
One day, at Vale Sul Shopping mall, some friends are hanging out and talking about cell phones: CAUÃ:
Look! I just got the new G5splus! It's great!
ANDRÉ:
Really? Nice! Still have my iPhone 5S, and it's good.
LUCAS:
Well, mine is the good and old S6, and it works well for
me …
When Anderson arrives, everybody stares at him:
EVERYBODY:
Hi Anderson!
Anderson:
Hello there! Look what I've just bought! My cell phone,
IPhone X, is the best! Your cell phones are rubbish, trash! HaHaHa TRASH
While laughing, Anderson's phone flew off his hands and fell on the floor. CAUÃ:
See? You were mocking us, and your cell phone is
broken now! Who is your God now, huh?
Anderson went home very upset. And his friends were upset, too.
Three days later ... Anderson calls his friends through Facetime.
ANDERSON:
Hi, friends. Do you want to go bowling?
EVERYBODY:
Yes.
ANDRE:
But what day? 14
ANDERSON:
Today at 8pm. Is it Ok?
EVERYBODY:
OK!
Some hours later ... in the bowling alley all the friends met at 8 pm.
LUCAS:
Hi guys!
EVERYBODY:
Hi Lucas.
ANDRE:
Let's choose a bowling alley.
CAUÃ:
Ok, let's go!!
They chose a bowling alley and started playing.
LUCAS:
I'm first.
ANDRE:
I'm second.
ANDERSON:
Third. But before that, I’d like to say I’m sorry for
mocking you that day. Sorry guys. CAUÃ:
It’s fine! But now we’ll beat your record in the bowling
alley! Ahahha ANDERSON:
Wow man! Ahahahha
They had lots of fun, and Anderson didn’t mock his friends anymore.
