Presentation Creating a new world is always a difficult undertaking. The writer needs to use up all of their creativity to give life to all the characters and their singularities, as well as the setting of the story. It is even harder if the story is a fantastic one. The Young Writer Project has proven to be an amazing way to draw out this creativity, as well as many other writer qualities from our students, who had to embody the spirit of the content creator. Our work started by making sure that the students felt at ease with the subject, by bringing, to their grasp, quality material ranging from adventure books and character guides to super hero movies, going even to the scary story of “A Nightmare Before Christmas”. Aside from the content brought to class by the tutors, the students themselves already had a broad knowledge about the genre, which transpired into their stories when they were creating their characters and their worlds. After the initial brainstorming was over, we did a workshop with them so they could better understand how the writing process works, for that, we brought tools that help writers create, such as guides to world building and character creation, as well as tips on how to organize the ideas; one of our greatest allies were the stick notes, which they used profusely. Another tool that they used, were the online translators, which gave them the creative independence that would be lacking in case there were interventions. The result of all of their hard work is this amazing adventure story book, the culmination of over a month of dedication poured over ideas that they refined. Some mistakes on structure and expressions were ´kept to preserve the student’s writing and to show their learning stage. Enjoy the moment of reading these stories and remember they were written by Year 4 Students. Ms. Kátia and Mr. Luiz
THE AMAZING ADVENTURE

One day two brothers wanted to go camping in the forest. Zack and Julia. Zack is tall, brave and strong. Julia is pretty, smart, happy and has brown hair. They went to the camping because it was Julia’s 1 8th birthday. They packed their suitcases and on the next they went camping. When they got there, they assembled the tent and they went hiking to get some fruits to eat. They lost the way back to the camping. They didn’t know how to come back to the camping. Four hours later, they were so hungry, on the night, they ate the fruits they had taken. They were too cold and dehydrated. They found in the middle of the night a snake! Then they start to run away. Zack tripped on a stone and scratched his knee. On the other day they heard voices from the trees. They started to look for the noises and they saw talking animals! Julia said to Zack, “Oh my gosh!!! Did you hear that? See, there is one monkey, one bird, one tiger and one turtle.” The animals saw Zack and Julia and went talk to them. Julia was scared, Zack was not so scared, because he is brave. After that, they started talking to the animals. The monkey was the funniest, the tiger was more serious, the turtle was calm and the bird was talkative. They made friends with the animals and the animals helped the kids to go back to the camp site. After that they made a big lunch for the animals to thank them. Unfortunately, they had to come back to your houses. 7
THE SUPER GUY

Marcos was born in another planet. Its name is Grazellian. He had to go to another planet when he was 5 years old, because his planet Grazellian was going to explode. The people of Grazellian had super powers. One of it is laser eyes. They had a commander, Magnos. He was 35 years old. Marcos and Magnos were born in the same city, the name of the city is Teletrans City. When Marcos was going to the other planet, his planet exploded. Marcos went to Earth but he didn’t know where he is. First, Marcos went to New York in USA, but he was strange for the people, because he had super powers. Marcos stopped in the Earth with 6 years old, One family adopt he. They don’t know Marcos had super powers, but one day the family who adopted Marcos, realized he had super powers. Magnos wanted to go to Earth too, but he went to Mars because there was a problem in the spaceship. When he was fixing the spaceship he learned building techniques. One of his school friend gave a nickname for Marcos: Super Guy. He didn’t like too much the nickname, but he didn’t care. Magnos, who had the nickname of Megamind was preparing his travel to Earth, but lacked some details. When Marcos was 36 years he trained to combat and two years later Magnos come to Earth. When Magnos came to Earth, with 35 years old, because he didn`t get old in Mars, he found Super GUY stronger. Magnos wanted to destroy Super GUY, but Magnos is stronger. They start battle, Super GUY and Megamind shot laser and Megamind shot more stronger. He hit Super GUY with the 9
laser. But Super GUY regenerate for a miracle and he hit Megamind with the laser, Megamind fall! Megamind was revolted against Super GUY. They went to the sky, Megamind hit Super GUY and he fell. Megamind use his teleport and hit Super GUY to the floor with his total strong!!! Super GUY ran and trapped Megamind, he became weak with WATER, but Megamind use teleport to escape. Grantonica a part of Grazellian is the poison for Super GUY. Megamind prepared a trap for Super GUY with Grantonica. Super GUY ran to the trap, he escaped, but Super GUY lost for a time his powers. Megamind maneged almost kill Super GUY, but Super GUY get back his powers. Super GUY come stronger and fly to the universe and he was on verge of the death, Super GUY hit Megamind expelling him from the Earth forever . New York city was protected by Super GUY.

Ana Paula is good girl. She love animals. She live in a house with animals. Her mom and her dad died, Ana Paula was very sad. Gustavo is a boyfriend of Ana Paula. Gustavo is a good man. He live with sharks. He live in the sea, the mom of Gustavo is alive and his dad died. Gustavo is sad, but he knows he have to stop thinking about it. Ana Paula and Gustavo moved to Japan. Ana Paula and Gustavo is going to Japan, because his uncle live in Japan. Ana Paula like Japan. Gustavo liked the Japan too. He thinks everything is cool, but the better is the food for him. He love work, he don’t need to separate from Ana Paula. Ana Paula stays in uncle’s house, Gustavo is going work and to go shopping, because it is his uncle’s birthday. He wants a dog. Ana Paula need to buy clothes for him for gift! Gustavo needs to buy dog for her uncle. Gustavo hates dog but Ana Paula and his uncle like. Ana Paula and Gustavo saw a girl! This girl is a villain! Her name is Cheshire. The villain saw Gustavo and Ana Paula, Ana Paula is going to talk, but Cheshire don’t need to talk! She wants to battle! 13
She don’t need to talk with Ana Paula! She need the power of Gustavo and Ana Paula. Cheshire said, “Give me the powers! Gustavo and Ana Paula said, “No. We love our powers. We don’t need to give to you!” Gustavo got very angry with Cheshire, because she got the power of Ana Paul. Gustavo took the dog his uncle had to bite Cheshire. Ana Paula liked the idea. Cheshire hates dog because she is allergic to dog and she has a trauma. One day she was playing with a dog and the dog bite her. She got really mad” Ana Paula and Gustavo battle with Cheshire. Cheshire lost, Gustavo and Ana Paula won. Ana Paula and Gustavo lived happy.

In one planet distant there were one boy and your name is Oliver. Oliver had 1 2 years old, he lived in Endercity. Edercity had much peace and much happiness and Oliver happy in his city. But one day!!! Endercity received one news that the planet would explode and everyone would have to flee to stay alive. Then Oliver and his father went to planet Earth. On Earth when he was going to the house he had bought, on the way, he saw David.Oliver and David were already best friends. In a night Oliver heard a noise in the sky, Oliver go to windows and see one portal in the sky. Oliver go to his garden and the portal he saw several ghosts. One ghost attacked Oliver and he received a power of invisibility. Oliver did not know he had the power of invisibility. After one week Oliver was in his room, he was putting his clothes when he saw he was total invisible. Oliver told David the secret, but he got jealous because his friend had super powers. Oliver was afraid to go to school because of his power and because his father did not know that his son had powers. 17
In the next day Oliver was going to school and thought how it would be like his day. After months, Oliver was suspicious about David, because he angry with everybody, but this was because Oliver was better than him. David was his best friend, but he was also a villain. One day Oliver and David have a discussion in Oliver’s house, then they were not best anymore. Oliver than began to save the world with his power against villains and thieves. Oliver was saving the world one day when he saw a girl and fell in love. The name of the girl is Sophia. From that moment Oliver began sending gifts to Sophia. Sophia lived in a castle and David wanted to kill Sophia. One day Oliver was walking and he saw David there in the castle of Sophia. Oliver ran to the door of the castle and he kicked the door. Oliver punched David. David was bleeding. Sophia said, “Thank you.” And they became boyfriend and girlfriend. Oliver and Sophia lived happy forever.

Super Gamer was born in a strange world. In his world there was much violence, so when Super Gamer was a child, his parents sent him to Gamerland. After some time he became the best gamer of his planet. Villain was the best player of his planet, until one day Super Gamer came and beat him in the championship. Villain was angry because he was not the best anymore and he wanted revenge! There was a championship of video games, called Gamer Champioship. Super Gamer and Villain were the finalists so they battled and Super Gamer won. Villain stayed angry so he prepared a plan to neutralize Super Gamer. So Villain went to his cave and created a plan to neutralize Super Gamer. The plan was: create a gun to make the Super Gamer forget how to play video games. When the night came Villain went to the hero’s house, entered his room in silence. Then Villain clattered and Super Gamer woke up and he saw what was going on, so he tried to escape. Villain was after him, he tried to get Super Gamer, but he went to a cave and Villain went to the cave too. 21
So the hero get a diamond sword and stab Villain, he fainted. Villain opened his eyes and the hero was singing, “TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!” Super Gamer used a gun to turn Villain into turn pixels. Villain never returned and the Super Gamer remained the world’s best player.

Felipe and Leonardo were two brothers that had super powers, but they didn’t know. They had a dad that was very busy and serious, he was called Juan. Felipe and Leonardo had a dog that was called Pipoca, they had a mom who was called Hanna. Felipe’s power was to fly and resurrect good people only. Leonardo’s power was to transform himself in a dragon and he had a super resistance. They discovered the super powers in a camp. In the city there were two super villains that were very bad. One villain’s name was Lucas, he was the Bad Lightning, the other was called Jack, who is The Pumpkin. One day, Juan said “I am going to buy pasta, meat and coke.” Past three hours he didn’t come back, Felipe and Leonardo called their dad, but he didn’t answer. They called the police, because they didn’t want to expose themselves. The police went to investigate the case but they didn’t find Juan because he was abducted by one Bilu. Bilu is a type of alien that is very dangerous. They got Juan and transformed him into a phantom skeleton and became Dead Man. Dead Man came back to Earth to haunt everybody. In another Halloween night, the supers heroes were sleeping, Dead man, Bad Lightning and The Pumpkin invaded the 25
heroes’ house silently, they killed the heroes dog, the Pipoca, they fled. When the heroes woke up, they saw the dog and they were very sad, they went looking for the person who killed the dog. They found the person, but is not one person, are three! They fight 1 3 hours, Super Dragon and Life Man vs Dead Man, Bad lightning and The pumpkin. The supers heroes lost, but they tricked the villains and killed The Pumpkin and the Bad Lightning. The super heroes killed Dead Man, but Felipe resurrected him, the heroes unmasked Dead Man and they found that he was their father.

In New York, there was one super heroine, her name was Sofie and her nickname was Fire Girl. She lived with a normal family, but Sofie did not say to her family her secret. But there was also a super villan. His real name was Jack and his nickname was Evilman. One day Sofie saw Jack in the restaurant. Jack did not see Sofie. He wanted to destroy the restaurant because he saw Fire Girl and she had destroyed his house in the past. Sofie went to the bathroom and became Fire Girl. Evilman saw Fire Girl and he tried to run. Sofie used her super speed and captured Evilman. He fight with Fire Girl and they almost destroyed New York. Fire Girl wins the battle and Evilman went to the jail. Six later, Jack went out of jail, he became a good person and helped construct the city again.

Olliver was on his farm. He was lying down with his uncle. He and his uncle were talking about the farm. He saw the clock and discovered that he was late to work. He went to the car and accelerated. Twelve minutes later he arrived to his work. He was walking in the lab hallway when he saw a door that leads to a room, a new room. On the door it was written: ><Don’t enter><. Olliver thought and thought and decided to enter the room. ‘I will enter in this room!’, he said. He found an armor, a shiny armor. He got the armor, put in his bag and ran to his farm as fast as possible. He put the armor under his bed, for no one to see the armor. Two days later, he tried to find out more about his armor, this was written in the computer: Nothing about “What is a shiny armor” was found, sorry :( Only some pictures, but it was not his armor in the pictures...he went out to try the armor and...HE STARTED TO JUMP SUPER HIGH AND RUN SUPER FAST, he felt very happy! Why? Because he will be a SUPER HERO! He found in the internet a villain that was trying to destroy RedWoodCity! He was called THE SHADOW! Olliver goes to the city to see if everything is okay. And...he saw a spot of destruction! He went talk with some workers, they said: "The shadow passed here." 31
"Why?" Olliver said. "Because he is evil." Olliver went to his farm. He caught the armor, put it on him and ran the fast as possible to the city. In the city, he looked for The Shadow, but nothing... He asked the civilians...and nothing again! He looked for on and on, but nothing; He went back to his farm. He thought, thought and though. HE HAD A IDEA.Try to find and destroy THE SHADOW. In a monday morning,Olliver went out of the farm, he got the armor and went to city and saw The Shadow in a tower, The golden tower. Virallest ran the maximum possible and gave a super jump to the golden tower! And on the tower, he saw The Shadow! He was building a machine that would destroy the city! Virallest said, "No!" And The Shadow said, "Yes!" Virallest went on The Shadow and punched The Shadow. The Shadow returned the punches, but Virallest pushed The Shadow and he fell off the tower. Later Virallest put The Shadow in the prison. All finished here but...THE SHADOW GET OUT OF THE PRISON!

One girl named Super Girl, but her real name is Andrea. She is from Kripton. She came to planet Earth, because in Kripton was a war going on, and her father threw her into planet Earth. Her powers are speed, strong, fly and laser beam, Super Girl got the super powers because Potato Head gave a poisoned potion and the potion give super powers. Her enemy: Super Potato Head, his powers are the invisibility, teletransportion, eyes laser and fly. One day, Potato Head do a ship because he wants destroy the planet. When Super Girl heard that the Potato Had was going to destroy the planet, she run toward the Potato Head, but he escape and Super Girl failed. After Potato Head escaped, he planned to make a trap to Super Girl. The trap was like this: the Potato Head captured the aunt of the Super Girl and placed her on gallows, called the Super Girl and started a war. When Potato Head said to Super Girl, she was angry, but tried to hurry. When he left, Andrea couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t go with the clothes Super Girl because if he could kill the aunt of Andrea. The Super Girl arrived flying, but when she entered she changed clothes for one work. The Super Girl gave many punches in the Potato Head, but 35
he also give punches in Super Girl! She saved her aunt and she left. One day Potato Head found Super Girl and start a war. Potato Head gave many punches in Super Girl, but Super Girl use super beam and Potato Head fall and Super Girl kill Potato Head! After Super Girl kill Potato Head, many constructors start will begin rebuilding the city. And then the city was calm since there.
