~ Biopoem ~ Since the beginning of 2016, year 6 students are learning how to talk about themselves studying themes such as “My Family and Friends”, “My Things”, “My Interests”, “My Day”, “My Home” and “My History”. Also, they are studying William Shakespeare. But why? The whole world is celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death; he is also known for the themes presented in his works: “Family and Relationships”, “Justice and Rules”, “Leadership and Power”, “Identity and Equality” and “Fate and Destiny”. As the purpose of this Project was to enable students to write their own Biopoem, they participated in a musical activity to describe their colleagues, watched videos about Shakespeare’s biography and some of his main plays, and made a mind map about him and about a friend. Then they started to study the genre Biopoem, its structure and features. It was a quite deep experience in which year 6 students could find out much more about themselves and their friends, as well as the importance of expressing their feelings and opinion. Hope you have fun, Ms. Laura, Ms. Katia and Mr. Luiz
