August 1 Heritage Day Celebrations are back in-person! On Monday August 1st complete your August long weekend with a celebration of cultural diversity in our community! Come try different ethnic foods, enjoy cultural performances, engage in cultural activities, win door prizes, have fun with children’s activities and more! $5 admission fee can be purchased either online or at the door. Stay tuned to our social media for updates on performers, food and other activities.

August 23 -27 Shakespeare in the Park - Hamlet

William Shakespeare’s famous work “Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” is a tragedy set across five acts written around the year 1600. More than just a revenge play, “Hamlet” deals with questions about life and existence, sanity, love, death, and betrayal. It is one of the most quoted works of literature in the world, and since 1960 it has been translated into 75 languages (including Klingon).

Whoop Up Days

For 125 years, Whoop-Up Days marked the culmination of summer for Southern Albertans. Celebrate summer with us from August 23 - 27.

Kicked-off by the highly anticipated parade through downtown Lethbridge, this year’s Whoop-Up Days features your favourite sights, sounds, smells and tastes! This year’s fair will feature an Indigenous cultural celebration, and will introduce a brand-new La Galleria art showcase, YQL Beach - an indoor beach party, the 1927 Saloon, Mini Carnival - a dedicated kid’s zone, and a culinary experience that will take your taste buds on a roller coaster of Southern Alberta flavours!
