A Message from Mayor Chris Spearman
The change in the weather is a sure sign that winter is just around the corner. The great outdoors is calling for an invigorating walk with the family in the river valley or in any of our beautiful parks to help ease the transition into winter. Be sure to take advantage of these beautiful fall days before the snow flies.
This year, Thanksgiving and our ability to share the holiday with family and friends will take on special meaning, and we can be thankful for all we have done as a community to keep each other safe.
Municipal election day is Monday, October 18th and I encourage you to exercise your right to vote. It is your civic duty to research the candidates and make informed choices on who should represent you on City Council and our local school boards.
You’ll also be asked to respond to the following questions: "Do you support using a ward system to elect City Councillors (other than the Mayor) starting with the 2025 municipal election?” "Do you agree that city council should approve plans to construct a 3rd bridge prior to 2030 as a municipal capital project priority?" You can find more information about the election at: www.lethbridge.ca/elections
Remember, if you have any questions about any City of Lethbridge service or programs, you can call 311 during business hours for all the answers.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the citizens of Lethbridge for giving me the opportunity to serve for two terms as your Mayor. Also, a big thank you to the outgoing Council for their hard work and dedication to public service during these challenging times. My best wishes go out to the incoming City Council and the next Mayor for a rewarding experience.
Be safe and be well, Lethbridge. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Chris Spearman, Mayor
City of Lethbridge
