Towards the end of last year, I found myself between a rock and a hard place.

I knew exactly where I wanted to be and how to get there.

I was following my passion.

I was surrounded by supportive and encouraging people.

Yet something wasn’t right. I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t working in my genius and I felt like I had one shoe nailed to the floor and was going round in circles.

I had to listen to me.

“As Maya Angelou said – I was enough, and it was time to rise.”

I had to confirm what my purpose was. I had to identify what I was capable of, redefine what my mission was and how I was going to transform our community. I thought I was going to do that with someone else but, when that became obvious that it was not happening, I realised that I was no longer going to wait on another. I was going to stand in my own power and move forward alone.

In reality I was not alone, however, as there were people in the community who stepped up to be by my side. Those who believed in the mission to teach people the power of collaboration and to share the strength of community.
