he story began in 1972, when Stefano Ricci, a young Florentine man of just 23 years, designed his own collection of ties that represented much more: a debut, indeed, but also a defence of values privileging absolute quality, artisanal craft and 100% Made in Italy production.

From this time forward, the Stefano Ricci brand has transformed from a small company to an international luxury lifestyle group with over 600 employees, touching the design of menswear, fragrance, homeware, cigars and more recently, timepieces. Always rooted in Italy, its Founder, President and Designer Stefano Ricci is also still at its helm, together with his wife Claudia and his two sons, Niccolò, C.E.O., and Filippo, Creative Director. Fashion as a family business is a very Italian affair.

Stefano Ricci entered into the rarified arena of Haute Horlogerie in 2020 with the maiden ‘Octagon’ model. This first collection of SR Watches features a chronograph, annual calendar and perpetual calendar in a limited edition of sixty timepieces. It garnered the title “Best Investment of the Year” by industry magazines.

In 2022, on the occasion of the brand’s 50th anniversary, Stefano Ricci both returned to his roots and developed his passion for watches further. He developed the perfume ‘Firenze’ as an homage to the designer’s hometown, notably featuring an olfactive bouquet to evoke Florentine orangeries. Also for this landmark year, he created the Octagon SR Watches Black Steel Chronograph, introduced with a vulcanised rubber strap and produced in a limited edition of fifty pieces. Discreet yet incredibly strong, angular but arching, sporty yet capable of going anywhere with its wearer, Stefano Ricci takes the beauty of black centre stage. An icon is born.

Stefano Ricci does not participate in the calendar of seasonal fashion shows, but chooses instead to show his collections in private galleries and, for the brand’s 50th anniversary, amidst the architectural and artistic wonders of Luxor, Egypt. Bringing Italian fashion and incredible exuberance to the world, Stefano Ricci, the designer and business visionary, has always done things his way, confidently, and with family by his side—truly, an Italian man very much of our times.
