It was the end of February. The day of the District Championship between Southern Boone and Blair Oaks. This will be the third time playing the Eagles, and the second time on our home floor. They barely beat us the first time in the Tri–County Conference with a score of sixty–seven to sixty–eight. They received the ranking of first in Class Three Missouri boys basketball standings after that defeat. However, the second time we met on our floor, and we took them off their first place pedestal. We beat them sixty–five to fifty–two. They were now ranked second and we moved up to eighth. Blair oaks was hosting the class three District Tournament this year. So we knew we might have to play them again, but it will be on our home floor. Wouldn't...show more content...
They stand on the bottom flight of steps extending into the middle landing, talking amongst themselves about how they don't want to mess up the warm up routine. I stand on the first step of the second flight. In the middle of the white flood of players that flowed over the steps, each white home jersey cascades over the other down the steps. The uniforms are white, falcons proudly displayed on the chest while we carry our number on our back. It is a banner of what we stand for and what we represent. I stand by Justin and Ethan. I listen to Ethan talking about how he doesn't get nervous for basketball games, and try to dismiss the smell of Justin refusing to put on deodorant before a game. That is not the only smell drifting through the stairway though. The smell of popcorn from the crowd is very noticeable. My jersey and warmup shirt carry the distinct smell of maple syrup from coach washing them the night before, but they always smell of maple syrup before games. It is such a good smell, but I can not taste the syrup. All I can taste is the aftertaste of my gatorade mixing with salt from the drops of sweat running down the sides of my face. At the top of the stairs are the seniors, our leaders. I can see the nervousness, the uncertainty, and the worry on some of their faces. A few of them talk to each other about key points they need to focus on to give Southern Boone that second loss. Others are bouncing to the Get more content

My Last Soccer Game
Passes were flying, brisk and beautifully, to their intended targets. The kicks, arched with perfection, barely kissed the ground before their departure was rocketed off in direction of the stark white goal posts. As I gazed around the field, I gathered this sense of calm from my team mates. The scoreboard counted down towards start of the game as the breeze whispered to me a silent farewell. But the breeze wasn't my concern at this point; we were about to play Richland center and I had a good feeling that today was going to be one to remember.
Coach called everyone over to the gleaming metal benches located on the Richland center Track that surrounds the football field. In this instance however, it also doubled as the soccer...show more content... Richland center raced towards our goal at lightning pace down the left sideline. This is when instinct kicked in, and I assumed center stage along with the streaking orange RC player.
The world in my eyes had changed. Nothing mattered more to me at this moment then shutting down that player. I had done this over a hundred times. I was on them in a flash, but that split second was all it took. I felt a pop. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why was I on the ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on my lapse in concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter. And that's when I knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became absolutely pin drop silent. I couldn't even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that mattered was stopping them from scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked the ball out of bounds once again. The world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I could hear was people yelling at me to sit down. Why would I want to sit down? They were going to score; I couldn't let them do that. The team shouldn't be asking me to do anything of the sort. That's when I noticed I was limping. Why was I limping? I only fell for a few seconds. But there was that question again, Why did I fall? I didn't have long to Get

My Favorite Sport Is Soccer
A. As far as I remember I became involved in sports since I was 6 or seven. It all began with family reunions at the park. My family would play soccer and baseball but it was seeing them have fun what caught my interest in sports. I used to cheer for whichever team my dad was playing in.
B. My favorite sport is soccer and volleyball. When I was younger I remember watching soccer games with my family and screaming loud and proudly when my favorite soccer team scored however, I would also get super mad when my favorite team would lose or when they would get a yellow/ red card. While growing up I also remember watching boxing matches at my godfather house. I would sit there and watch boxers hit each other and bleed from their faces. As a...show more content...
The most exciting thing was making the school proud every time we won a game. Some games were tough but we always kept a positive mind and prepared ourselves for the next game. The most powerful things about these two sports was the ability to make new friends and learn from one another.
B.The main goal we wanted was to make our school proud. In the beginning of the season we all established an individual and a team 's goal. Our individual goals were based on things we wanted to accomplish during the season. We had a partner that would hold us accountable and evaluate our progress. Each partner had to keep the other person accountable for accomplish their own goal. Some of my teammates goals were developing new skills while others was just wanted to get along with other team players. At the end of the day we all had to show progress and keep working hard to achieve these goals. Our success was be united as one and become a better team. I can say form experience that these two values go hand in hand because in a team you always want to see progress and succeed in the thing you love doing. Competition is also a key value because without I wouldn 't be able to push myself to achieve great things. We have to compete with other teams and with one another to make ourselves stronger within the sport industry but, we also have to stand out from our teammates without pushing them down. Success is the most

For me soccer is my favorite hobby because it's part of my life and I cannot live without it and sometimes I get my motivation through watching a soccer game when my team is losing but they comeback during the game to score more goals and win before at the last minute, then I feel like I can do it too and it's never too late. For instance, me and my friends will go on vacation and first thing we had to make sure to bring was the soccer ball. Soccer is unlike other sports that requires so many equipment because all you really need is just cleat and a soccer ball. The world cup is one thing that all soccer fans wait for it every four years, me and my friends always get together to watch it and we will be going to the stadium sometimes if we can afford it. The reason Soccer is the most popular game in the world because it is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries. One of the things I learned from soccer, the game is not over till the whistle blows, meaning you must work hard and do not give up until the last moment. My favorite player is Ronaldo, and one of his famous words is work hard in the dark and one day you may shine under the lights. Soccer is not just a game, it is a passion, if you do not breath or dream soccer, then you are just wearing a jersey. Therefore, soccer is without any doubt in my mind the best sport because it is fun, you work out and you shar exciting moments with friends. So, what are you waiting for?

Minecraft is a game where the player uses their imagination to shape the world around them using the resources they find. In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn't even been released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man, Markus "Notch" Persson, and this is his story. What makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that it was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a company. He started to work on Minecraft in his free time but after a giant popularity spike he realized that it could be a hit, so he quit his job and began...show more content...
The game sells around 10,000 copies per day. It has become a cultural phenomenon and on January 12, 2011 sales passed the one million mark, but they continued to rise. With popularity increasing, big name comics like "Penny Arcade" and "Hejibits" discovered the game too and published comic strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000 a day and continues to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang has 10 employees. Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh, Tobias Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. These few people make up the team that continues to work towards Minecraft's future. But with so few employees things take time. Even though the game has not been officially released, people who buy the game get a copy of what it is right now as the updates are being pushed out. With such success Mojang is the target of some heavy criticism from blogs, critics, and even their own fans. One speculation from fans is that Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it truly is a one hit wonder? Will the company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will they join a publisher in order to stay afloat and lose their title of "indie?" Another speculation concerns Mojang's next game that has absolutely nothing to do with Minecraft, not even in the same genre. What if nobody likes the game? What

My Favorite Game As A Child
Hands down It goes without saying, Telephone was my favorite game as a child. Throughout my youth my family and I indulged in many games that didn't require money to play. My parents struggled financially, so Telephone was a game we could play without them worrying about how much it cost. My sister and i would usually play it around the neighborhood or at family functions. I can even admit I will play the game till this day. I can particularly recall the time i knew telephone would be my favorite game. It was at a usual family gathering, Thanksgiving, and of course the entire family was there. When my Uncle Randy said he wanted to play that day not one person could turn him down. I was sure that it would give us all a good laugh, and let me tell you telephone did not disappoint that year. Warning laughing may be contagious! Anyone from the age of 5 to 100 could play along which made it super fun and easy to play. As a child i remember playing with my uncle Randy who has down syndrome age 53 and lives with my grandparents. Once at my grandparents on a thanksgiving day i can recall when my cousins and sister heard Randy say he wanted to play telephone so the loving nieces and nephews we are couldn't turn him down. We all gathered in the game room up stairs i still remember the room distinctively, there was a massive oak table which could fit 10 if not more people, even from up stars you could smell the strong aroma of grandma's pumpkin pie. We all gathered around the table and debated on the topic of the phrase. We discussed food, sports and movies but no one could agree. Because of the loud ruckus coming from upstairs my grandpa Randall popped into the game room to see what the hype was about. We then explained to him that we were trying agree on a topic for telephone after explaining the topics we were arguing about he then suggested the topic be about church. After he left we decided the topic was going to be about moves again instead of church, because we felt like we were in church just being there. We all played each other in rock paper scissors to see who would go first and who would be last, my luck of course i was dead last and my sweet uncle Randy was before me. When people ask, "what is your favorite game of all time", you cannot help but feel somewhat lost in response. But when you put into context, and think very hard, the best you can do is narrow it down to a select few. And after much time and deliberation, I've managed to put it down to just 5. And that was only possible because I put the decade moniker on it. So, with that in mind, here are my top 5 games of the decade.
#5:
Tekken5: Dark Resurrection:
When you think of what you want in a hand held game, a lot of things may pop into your mind. You're going to want functional gameplay that works for the allotted buttons. You'll want fun, addictive, and challenging concepts. And most importantly, the ability to jump in and jump out ...show more content...
As well as knowing that people will be playing this in short bursts, or may just chill on the can and level there character up. This was truly the pinnacle of Tekken fighting games this decade. And for that I tip my hat to the Namco Bandi team that worked on it.
#4: Animal Crossing
There are very few games that can make you want to stay at home, rather than going out with the boy's. Animal Crossing managed to do that, without it feeling like a drag. Every time you came home from work, or school, you would run strait to your purple lunch box, and check on your imaginary friends. And with good reason, the fishing contest was that day, and you needed to catch a bigger bass then that blasted hippo in Acer 4. Otherwise you would not get that pineapple bed you had your eye on. But once you're done with that, you got to clean your room.
Saying that aloud now a days may sound somewhat insane, but when Animal Crossing had you in its clutches, it was all totally justified. And with its docile tones, simplistic control, and cutesy nature, you felt as if life was good. And it was, because you just got K.K. Sliders new single. Now your house was banging to the techno tunes of that rockin dog with a guitar. Not to mention you just got Joust in the mail from your mom. And when the store opens again tomorrow you can go sell your Jackknives, and go buy that painting from Redd for the museum.

Microsoft targets numerous segments of the population of many countries through advertisements of its Xbox. Microsoft, one of the most successful companies in the world, is using its innovations to take over the machine gaming market. Sony and Nintendo have been the gaming powerhouses for many years now, but are now starting to become overshadowed by the success ofMicrosoft's Xbox. As long as gaming machines have been available, teenage boys have been the targets of the companies. One new strategy that Microsoft is using is the targeting of all ages and both sexes of consumers. While other companies continue to stay in the young kids and teenage market, Xbox is revolutionizing the target market of gaming systems....show more content...
This fact has really hurt the competitors. Microsoft has been smart with its advertisements. They have made many simple television, magazine, and internet ads that have targeted all audiences. These advertisements do not use expensive celebrities, but they use what the segment for each game is interested in. They also relate the advertisements for certain games to the television show, or the magazine the target segment watches or reads. For example, on MTV, a station that is watched by a great number of teenage boys, an Xbox commercial came on emphasizing "hot" girls who are featured in a game. This tells men of all ages, but primarily teenagers, that if you buy this Xbox game, not only can you have fun for days playing it, but you can also see beautiful women while doing it. Another example is during an NFL football game, a commercial came on promoting a new football game for the Xbox. Marketing strategies such as these are what Microsoft has used for years to become the top company that they are.
Relatively speaking, Microsoft uses many of the same strategies for its promotions as Sony and Nintendo. Product positioning is the most difficult aspect of Microsoft's marketing strategy for the Xbox. Consumers know that Microsoft is a great company and most computer owners have positive brand images of Microsoft. This really helps Microsoft get a jumpstart on their new product. But, the hard task comes when Microsoft Get

Best basketball
The day I played my best. It was in the morning we had to get up to go to are basketball games. Like all morning I was slow and then I played the best game of my life so far. It was a hard game one of the hardest game ever, no it was the hardest game ever. I know what you're thinking, the team played so well together that it was the best they ever played with each other. Even the shy people scored it was great. The score was unbelievable 200 points to 0. But we actually lost 89 to 58. Yeah I knew, how did I play the best. If we didn't even win and are team wasn't playing together like we always do. Maybe it was because they just wanted the ball or maybe they just were scared. It was the last game before the finals. I always go in thinking that we are going to lose. So I don't feel mad or disappointed if we lose. It also helps me play harder. But this time I was sure we were gonna lose. They were two times the size of me. They were like trees towering over me. Even their smallest girl was taller than our tallest girl. But they were in our division. We've never even seen them play before, but we knew they were good. They were all wearing orange pixel shorts. We were joking that they were pooping out pixels. Then we headed in for warm up's the crowd was cheering, but then the other team comes in and it went crazy. As we were doing leg–up lines they were shooting three's and making all of them. But they were slow and that's where we had an advantage. Then the game started and we were preparing for the jump ball. I know that we're not getting that ball and I saw one girl in a running position. So I went down to half court, then as soon as the ref threw the ball in the air the girl was running. Before the ball even got touched by the players. As soon as they got the ball they tried to pass the ball to the girl. I was running to get the ball, I jumped forward and stole the ball. All of the other girls' momentum was going in the other direction. So I just went by and score without a finger on me. After that happen the coach was yelling at them for letting me get the ball. Then they stepped it up shooting a three pointer after three pointer. At this point they are in the lead. Then they put the Get more content
My Best Game Essay
My favorite games were always the ones that came down to the last possession with only 5 seconds left. When the ticking of the clock became my own heartbeat, and I could hear each individual squeak of sneakers on the court, I waited for the ball to come sailing through the air as the accompanying adrenaline surged through my veins. This high seemed to go on forever, yet in reality it was only a mere second. Now with this jolt of energy I was ready. I received the ball, and, with a quick pump fake and cross over dribble I would be around the opponents' point guard. I would come to a jump stop and shoot! Time stopped as the buzzer went off and I waited to see if the ball would drop into the basket, it made its usual arching course to the basket, flipping over itself again and again. But this time I was on the ground writhing in pain. It was a moment.
I thought it was life changing, but actually, it just ended my athletic career. Aftershoulder surgery, many hours of physical therapy, and countless comeback attempts, I was waiting for my next moment to set me on a new path. It led me into the kitchen. Instead of using competition to increase my heart rate, I decided that cooking and baking provided me with a similar excitement. I dreamed of being in a professional kitchen, where the knives danced as they gracefully bounced up and down on the cutting board combining with the hum of the mixers, where the temperature kept rising throughout the dinner service, as the aromas
