IS HE INVISIBLE? Is he invisible? Who is he? What happened? If he was your family member, would you care? How you can help www.homelesspartners.com/fundraiser
Website Has Homeless Stories and Christmas Wishlists The public is asked for donations to provide website development needed to expand community connection to individual homeless people staying in shelters in additional cities over the holidays. In its 8th year of service, www.homelesspartners.com (a not-for-profit organization), has connected hundreds of people in the community to individual
homeless people in over ten cities in Canada and the United States. Now funds are needed to expand the website so that more cities and shelters can be added everywhere. The homeless are real people with stories that explain their situation. If the public knew their stories, there would be more understanding and compassion. The homeless are someone’s family member. Certainly if our own family member was homeless, we would stop to communicate and show caring. A typical scenario is Billy, age 23, whose father left the family when Billy was only 8 years old. His mother got sick and went to the hospital never to return. Billy was placed in foster care and was moved from home to home until one day after being beaten again, he decided to run away and live on the street. This Christmas he is sitting in a shelter and feeling pretty sad and alone. This story could be repeated countless times. The website provides a unique opportunity for anyone to read the stories of individual homeless people staying in a local shelter during Christmas and to deliver or send them a personalized gift or caring message. When they open their gift on Christmas morning, the homeless often shed tears that anyone would about them. One homeless woman said it best: “What I find most encouraging is that someone who doesn’t even know me would care enough to think of me.” To develop and expand the Homeless Partners website, please make your secure donation here https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_sxclick&hosted_button_id=BLZEPJWYVWYAU On behalf of Homeless Partners and the many people who will be encouraged, thank you so much.
