Climate 2022 Jeremy Austin Calvert

Through the seasons that pass, And the colors that pave I find that the trees Always seems to change. Through winter cold that freezes pain And spring renewal that soothes it away The summer heat which boils and taunts To the beauty of fall where I rest like a sloth. I dream of life, of colors, of pain Through it all, it all stays the same The wrath of nature which stands like a rock It never breaks, as it heals or rots. The will it has, unclear, never the same. We determine its pattern, but it may change. And should it change? Its beauty unbridled. And should it rot? Its roots which tile. For if we wreck nature, will it stay the same? Will the winter bring cold? Or heat that pains? Will the spring heal? Or fall lay away? If we don’t intervene, will it ever be the same? For if we do nothing, it will all go away.
