Students First Center

The Students First Center (SFC) helps students, parents and the public with questions regarding admissions, financial aid, registration, billing and many other topics. It is the best place to start when you have questions about UC Merced.

The SFC is open from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m. on Fridays. To contact the SFC, email studentsfirst@ucmerced.edu or call (209) 228-7178.

You can also chat online with a staff member from 8:30 a.m.–noon and 1–4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m.–noon and 1–3 p.m. on Fridays.

Checking in is simple! All you need is your name, student ID and the topic you need help with. Not sure what you need help with but don’t know where to go? Not a problem! Just select “I don’t know” and come by once you receive a text from us letting you know it’s your turn.
