Center for Service and Action

The Center for Service (CSA) and Action is a student hub for service, justice and advocacy at LMU. Our mission is to form and educate students who are committed to being people for and with others. We foster kinship with others that will lead to intellectual inquiry, moral reflection and social action.

Some of the key programs in CSA are:

ServeLA

Join with fellow first-year and transfer students for a day of service in the Los Angeles community. Transportation, t-shirt, breakfast and lunch included.

El Espejo

Join a mentoring program that connects LMU students with at-risk students at Lennox Middle School once a week from 3–4:30 p.m. Carpools available.

Special Games

Join a yearlong student-led program that organizes two Saturday events in the spring semester providing noncompetitive activities, fun and friendship for mentally and physically challenged youth and adults.

Alternative Break Program

Students are immersed in diverse contexts with concrete challenges that heighten social awareness and inspire lifelong social action through community-based learning during winter, spring and summer experiences that have been offered locally, nationally, internationally and virtually.

Service Organizations

Join one of ten student groups committed to service both on and off campus that meet weekly to build a community of reflection and support. Applications are available in February each year.
