Campus Safety
Public Safety is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment while respecting the rights and dignity of individuals utilizing the programs and facilities of Pepperdine University. Specific services include 24/7 security patrols, emergency response, threat assessment, building security, parking/ traffic enforcement, campus safety escorts, event support, investigations, and dissemination of safety-related information. Other services include roadside assistance for problems such as vehicle lockouts and jumpstarts, as well as management of the University’s fire and lifesaving equipment. We also encourage the use of the LiveSafe app, available for free on iTunes or the Google Play store. It offers users a variety of campus safety resources as well as the ability to communicate directly with Public Safety and 911, if needed. The app allows concerns to be reported anonymously.
Safe Rides
Pepperdine’s Safe Rides program exists to provide a safer community. If a student does not feel safe in an off-campus location, regardless of the circumstances, they are encouraged to call Public Safety for assistance at (310) 506-4441. Public Safety will facilitate your student’s safe return to campus by utilizing the appropriate campus resources. This is not a confidential service, but students should not fear punishment for seeking assistance when in an unsafe situation.
