A Note on UL Lafayette Housing Policy

First-time freshmen are required to live on campus unless the student meets one of the following Housing Exemptions:

• The student is married or is a single custodial parent

• The student is at least 21 years of age on or before the first day of classes for the academic year

• The student is living with parents, grandparents, or a married brother/sister within a 40-mile radius of campus and commutes daily

We encourage students to live on campus during the entirety of their time at UL Lafayette. Students meeting one of the above exemptions are able to reside off campus. The off-campus housing and apartment advertisements in this guide feature a few local options for students that qualify for a Housing Exemption.
