Housing & Residence Life

When a student lives on campus, they have an easier transition into University living and are more likely to take advantage of opportunities just steps away from their room.

Your student will enjoy the convenience of having direct access to classes, the library and the greater campus community which includes a wide variety of student organizations, programs and events that make campus life rewarding. Your student will join a community of residents and staff, fostering the development of relationships to last a lifetime. If your student is looking for more than just a room, encourage them to choose the experience of living in University Housing.

There are a variety of different living communities available in University Housing. We offer traditional residence halls, with shared bathrooms and common spaces; an apartment complex made up of suites and studios; and themed living communities which allow residents to live with people with similar majors or interests. Our current theme communities include programs connected to the College of Business, Honors, Health and

Human Services, and the College of Agriculture. We also offer LGBTIA+ and First Gen communities. All residents have access to high-speed internet, central heat and air, garbage and recycling, in-community computer labs, laundry on-site and are eligible to participate in the On-Campus Resident Parking Lottery.

Safety is a core value for University Housing. Our communities include safety features such as a 24-hour service desk, professional live-in/on call staff, alarmed exterior doors, closed circuit security cameras, as well as a strong cooperative relationship with the University Police Department (UPD).

Our residential communities are staffed with students and professionals who work to ensure that your student’s on-campus living experience supports their collegiate success. These staff have extensive training in supporting the needs of a wide range of individuals.

We know that finances will play a role in the decision of where your student should live. Living in University Housing provides students and parents some financial benefits. There is no credit check required. The initial housing payment required to complete your application is applied to your first payment. Payment is not due all at once. Instead, payments are spread out over four installments throughout the semester. If your student is receiving financial aid or scholarships managed by the campus, payment is made directly to University Housing at the beginning of each semester making life even easier. Dining is included with every housing plan. Dining offers a wide variety of menu items with offerings that support vegan, vegetarian and sensitive palates. In addition, if your student has special dietary needs, our dining staff will work directly with them to make sure that those needs are met. Besides dining, our apartments and studios have full kitchens where students have the opportunity to cook for themselves. Students living in the apartments or studios have smaller meal plans to allow for even more flexibility.

Friendship and community is the cornerstone of any residential experience. Our program focuses on ways to engage your student, to connect them with resources and to help them create the future that they have always imagined. Our programming focuses on the following pillars; Connection to Campus, Personal Development, Leadership, Service and Engagement, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
