WHAT DO I DO WHEN I HEAR SIGNAL BLUE?
?
A “Signal Blue” is called when there is an imminent threat of bodily harm on campus. If you are outside, and it is safe to do so, evacuate campus to a safe location. Otherwise, find a safe location, lock the door, close the blinds and turn off the lights. Remain quiet, silence cell phones and await further instructions. Do not leave your location unless you receive an “all clear” notification.
LOCKDOWN? During a Lockdown there is no confirmed threat on campus, but there is a potential for one. When a Lockdown is called you should calmly check in at the nearest office.
EVACUATION? During an evacuation calmly exit the building you are in, assisting others as needed. You will be guided to the nearest assembly area.
ONE 15-SECOND AIRHORN BLAST? One 15-second airhorn blast indicates that there is an imminent threat of lightning in your area. Discontinue all outdoor activities and move into the nearest sturdy building. Await further guidance from school personnel.
TORNADO WARNING? During a Tornado warning quickly move into a sturdy building and move to a glass-free interior room on the lowest level. Protect your head and face and await further instructions.
A WARBLING AIRHORN BLAST... ...alternating on and off for a full minute accompanied by flashing blue strobes? This will indicate a “Signal Blue” on the Robins Campus. Follow the “Signal Blue” procedures above. The blue lights will continue to flash for the duration of the emergency.” This warning system is only on the Robins Campus. A voice announcement will be used on the Mooreland Road Campus to indicate a “Signal Blue”.
