Classic New Year Traditions TOURNAMENT OF ROSES Originally started on January 1, 1890, the Rose Parade is watched in person by hundreds of thousands of spectators on the 5 ½ mile long parade route and is broadcast on multiple television networks in the United States. The parade consists of floats covered entirely with flowers, some of the best marching bands in the country and many equestrian units.

The City of Roses PA S A D E N A The city of Pasadena is perhaps best known for hosting the annual Rose parade and football game, but it’s also home to wonderful museums, great restaurants and fun shopping opportunities. The weather in January is warm, sunny and perfect for starting the year out right.

D I D Y O U K N O W ? The floats in the Tournament of Roses parade are a year in the making. Volunteers and professional builders work hard to construct them before covering them with all natural materials like flowers, fruits, vegetables seeds and of course, roses.
