REGISTRATION OPENS FOR CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING

In-person story times make their return this summer with a virtual class option! Either way, enjoy stories, crafts, and fun activities during the library’s story times. Registration is open to all library card holders. Programs are available for newborns through grade 5 and last for seven weeks. Space is limited so register early: one class per child. Preference will be given to Colleyville residents and children

COLLEYWOOD KIDS

Lights! Camera! Cellphones! Colleywood Kids will explore the wonder of storytelling through stop motion movie creation. Each student will require use of a cell phone with a camera and Stop Motion Studio app download. The class will conclude with a presentation of student-produced work.

“ROCKET” READERS

Reading is vital for children to succeed in school and in life, but many of them struggle with reading. What better listener than a friendly, non-judgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Independent readers (grades 1-5) can bring a favorite book from home or choose one from the library, and read it to a furry friend while here at the library!

Grades: 1-5 Day/Time: 2nd Saturday of the month, 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Dates: June 12, July 10 Location: Colleyville Public Library, 2nd Floor Registration Required: YES.
