HOME, A SAFE PLACE TO BE
In a faraway land, near a city called Dolores, there was a little and cheerful girl. Her name was Sara. She was 8 years old. She lived in the countryside with her mother, her father and her sister. She also had a restless dog called Spots and a quiet horse called Corn. They were friends and they played together all the time. Sara loved her home. It was a safe and cozy place. Every Friday morning, Sara and Spots took a walk along the city. Suddenly one Friday of March 2020 they weren’t able to do their “Friday walking. Spots was confused. He didn’t understand what had happened. He didn’t know that a pandemic had just started and there was a lockdown. People couldn’t leave their houses. He thought that he could do the walk alone. When Sara found out that Spots wasn’t there, she ran to the barn to find Corn. Corn was terribly bored at that time, so he agreed to join Sara to find their beloved friend together. They explored in the wheat crops and they found nothing. They explored in the woods but they found nothing. They explored in the river but they found nothing. A few hours later, starving and sad, they returned home. Sara was devastated so Lily, her mother, was thinking of something to make her happy again. She invited all the family to bake delicious cupcakes. They enjoyed cooking together, so this sounded like a great idea. Once they finished, Lily left the cupcakes in the window to cool them. Only a few minutes later, the family was in the living room when they heard a loud noise. It came from the kitchen. When Sara went to see what had happened, she was surprised. The place was a mess! The cupcakes were all over the floor! At that moment a tiny ball of hair was jumping over the window. “Spots is here!” Sara exclaimed. And she was right, Spot was just right there, jumping, wagging his tail, attracted by a delightful smell, the smell of home, the smell of a family reunited together to enjoy a delicious meal. He could return home, safe and sound.
