Chapter 1 Dani Binns walked into the spare bedroom. “I’m just going to visit the old toy box,” she called to her big sister Tara. “Back soon!” Every time Dani took out a toy from the box, she was sent off on an adventure and given a job to do.

There was a long pole poking out of the box. Dani grabbed it and pulled out a fishing net. Her hand began to tingle. The tingling spread up her arm and around her whole body. Then she began spinning and tumbling through space and time …

Chapter 2
When the spinning stopped, Dani realised she was in a huge red fire engine. It was bouncing along a rocky road towards the sea. “Hi! I’m Asha,” said the girl sitting to the left of Dani. “Tai and I are firefighters. The lighthouse on the rocks is on fire. We’re going to put it out.” 4

“You’ll need these,” said Tai, handing Dani a protective uniform and helmet.
“But you won’t need that,” added Asha, pointing to Dani’s fishing net. “There are some lovely rock pools where we’re going, but you’ll be too busy to catch fish!” 5
