THE CURSE OF THE SIXTH FINGER On a gloomy afternoon, Shinoy was watching a television programme in the living room when he heard a scream. He saw his mother holding her hands out. She had extra fingers! Shinoy activated the app on his phone, summoning the Chaos Crew. Light flashed and Mustang Harry appeared. “Extra fingers!” said Shinoy, pointing to his mother. “You have them too,” said Harry, gesturing to Shinoy’s hands. Just then, the fingers began to move. “They’re moving by themselves,” stuttered Shinoy’s mother. Suddenly, S.N.A.I.R. appeared on the television screen. “Do you like the fingers? I am controlling you!” The channel switched to the news. A reporter was speaking about a dangerous-looking red light in one of the windows of an abandoned building. “S.N.A.I.R.!” exclaimed Shinoy. Harry and Shinoy decided to go to the building to confront S.N.A.I.R., but the fingers grasped a wall. Shinoy was stuck. Shinoy’s mother pried the fingers off. Shinoy and Harry burst out of the house and ran to the building. The light was blinking. They tried to open the door but it was locked. The fingers moved again, swelling into a fleshy cage. “We’re trapped,” Harry growled, biting it. There was a strange wheezing noise. To their surprise, the fingers deflated. In seconds, the fingers looked like noodles. “Let’s climb up the side,” suggested Shinoy. He and Harry climbed to the window with the light. Shinoy got into the room through the open window. The room contained pictures of S.N.A.I.R., controls and a red lamp. Shinoy looked around the room. He pressed a red button on the controls. The
fingers fell off. “Freedom!” Harry vanished. “Goodbye!” called Shinoy. He left the building. But he didn’t notice the fingers crawling after him.
