Support students further with source files for practical tasks, practice questions and answers and video ‘walk-throughs’ of practical skills on an accompanying CD-ROM
Now you can insert a table. You can either choose from the Insert drop-down menu, or select the table icon from the right-hand menu on the Amaya screen.
Background
Using tables to organise webpages Junaid needs to add four extra pages to the website in addition to Page 1a. He wants to keep it simple, with details of the computers, printers, monitors and other supplies that he stocks. He has asked you to put together these pages. He has sketched an idea of what he wants: 4. Monitors

Browse the course CD (Source files, Unit 4) and choose the image Laptop.jpg.
Tip
Images for using in your web design work throughout these practical sessions are available on the course CD, but before using them, copy them to your local document folder. This means they will always appear in your website, even after the CD is removed. On thhe CD
So let’s make a start with page 2. You need to open a new page: File > New > New document. Use the browse button to find the right location. Make sure you browse to find the location of your image.
1 At this point you give the page a name: Page2.html
2 You have the option to give it a title: Computers

Unit 4 Computer networks
Inserting alternate text for an image is really important for businesses. It allows everyone to see, hear or read about the image.

3 You need to change from the default to 3 Columns and 4 Rows.
You are now going to apply what you have learned and build on it by using tables to organise the layout of the webpage. You will also learn how to insert an image and then insert a hyperlink. You may already know that tables are a good way of organising and laying out text in documents using word processing software. They are also good for webpages. Tables keep things looking well organised when viewed on a browser.
Provide thorough preparation as students build up to examstyle tasks and are supported with practice questions and answers Understand how ICT is used in the wider world through the scenarios which give a context for practical tasks and through ‘Real World’ boxes
Begin by typing the heading for Page 2. You can see from Junaid’s sketch that it should be Computers.

I have to say that I'm incredibly impressed with the Collins Cambridge IGCSE® ICT textbook. I've been looking for something that isn't too verbose or too sparse and this certainly fits the bill perfectly! I am also very impressed with how the Theory and Practical work are linked together. I also feel that the students will benefit greatly from the videos. - International School based in Belgium
