The Italian Mediterranean Diet Pyramid: Not just a diet The discovery of the health benefits of the Mediterra nean Diet is attributed to the American scientist Ancel Keys of the University of Minne sota School of Power, which pointed out the correlation between cardiovascular disease and diet for the first time. The “Mediterranean Diet” is more than a diet; it’s a lifestyle that also encourages eating with friends and family, socializing over meals, mindfully eating your favorite foods, as well as mindful movement and exer cise. The Mediterranean diet pyramid was developed based on the eating habits of long-living adults in the Medi terranean. A great message emerg ing from scientific studies on wine and red wine in particular is that the benefits are strictly connected with the consump tion at Consumptionmeals. of red wine during a “fatty” meal signifi cantly reduces the harmful consequences of oxidized fats, such as those present in” fatty foods” subjected to prolonged cooking. Oxidized fats are the first cause of atheroscle rosis. The wine antioxidants polyphenols greatly reduce the oxidative state of these fats eliminating the potential harmful excess before these molecules are absorbed.

e don't have many mirrors in our home, for obvious reasons, but recently I saw a reflection of this stranger in the window of the hardware store. The grotesque figure had more hair growing out his nose than he did out the top of his head, and he did a combover with the hair growing out his ears. He had this shriveled, gnarled face with slits for eyes, sunken cheeks, his teeth were worn down to the gums, and his Adam's apple looked like he'd swallowed a softball. His image scared the bejeezus out of me, and he's following me everywhere I go!

routines. This is what happened to the children of Israel.
O ne of the abilities that a good leader must possess is to be able to solve problems that will surely arise when a large group of people live together. It is obvious that the children of Israel needed to eat in order to keep alive. The Lord had provided bread from heaven called “manna” (Exodus 16:1-35), but a problem arose which was caused by discontentment. People got upset and began to complain to Moses about the monotony of having only manna to eat. The lack of variety in their diet and the tedious repetition of only eating manna caused the people to become discontent and unthankful. This is a common prob lem that is caused by monotonous

Their complaining was sinful, and when the Lord heard it, He began to burn the outskirts of the camp with fire (Numbers 11:13). The people cried to Moses for help and relief. Moses again prayed to the Lord and the disci pline was stopped. The Lord’s reac tion to complaining reveals that it is a serious sin. However, this disci pline didn’t hinder the people from continuing to complain.
The people began to weep and cry out to Moses. Moses took the problem to the Lord and admit ted that he could do nothing to appease the people by acceding to their demand. The Lord’s anger was greatly aroused (Numbers 11:10). Moses was given help from the Lord to handle the burden of dealing with the people (Numbers 11:16-17). Seventy men were chosen to assist Moses in overseeing the needs of the people. The Lord then promised to provide meat for the people. Moses responded to God’s promise by saying it seemed to him that it was impossible to provide meat for so many people (Numbers 11:18-22).

They had plans for a dance, a golf tournament, and a barbecue, but I don't know how to dance, broke four windows and wrenched my back the last time I played golf, and my doctor put me on a new diet: I can't eat anything that tastes good. Plus, I probably would have had to wear shorts to play golf, but the local community beautification committee asked me to NEVER wear them in public again because my white legs, knobby knees, and protruding varicose veins were scaring the tourists away.

I used to be able to sleep all night without getting up, but for some reason, now I have to get up several times to drain my radiator. Personally, I think it's because of all the preservatives they're putting in our food. And since when did a gallon of water start weighing eight pounds? The gallon jugs seem to be much heavier now, probably because of all the minerals and impurities in the water. That's my theory, anyway.

The people told Moses that they wanted more to eat than just manna. They wanted some meat to eat (Numbers 11:4-9).Their discon tentment caused them to demand that God should provide what they craved. The people told Moses that they were better off when they were slaves in Egypt. This reveals that sinful discontentment can result in sinful lusts and words. How fool ish to say that they were better off as slaves than freed servants of God. Being unthankful can cause a person to say foolish things. Moses

In 2016, PG&E partnered with labor and environmental organizations on a joint proposal agreement to retire Diablo Canyon Power Plant at the end of its current Nuclear Regulatory Commission operating licenses.
After four years, the decision to close the power plant has switched but has been met with concerns and also praise. Lawmakers adamant about protecting climate change and using renewable energy are switching gears because they see no immediate fix to the situation and find keeping Diablo Canyon Power Plant in service is the necessary remedy while further research in renewable energy is completed.

Yet, many are appeased with the power plant not retiring so soon. According to nonprofit news organization Cal Matters, Newsom says, “Climate change is causing unprecedented stress on California’s energy system, and I appreciate the Legislature’s action to maintain energy reliability as the State accelerates the transition to clean energy” (CalMatters.org).
In addition, he concludes, in agreement with Feinstein, that Diablo Canyon Power Plant is a “statewide reliability asset” beyond its complete initial retirement of 2025. The California Inde pendent System Operator, which manages the state’s power grid, supported Newsom’s plea for the Diablo Canyon extension.

While the reality seems to be that the power plant will stay open for at least eight more years, it is extremely clear that not all lawmakers and citizens are on the same side. Some people want it closed and for the state to focus on obtaining renewable energy, while many don’t see that as a possibility at this time. It is one of those arguments to agree to disagree on and hope that, in the end, it all works out for the benefit of our state and the environment.

The Knights of Columbus get together and pick a different charity that will bene fit from the cornhole tournament. But this year, it was a tie, so they decided to give proceeds to both. The money comes from donations and the registration fees from the cornhole teams.
However, energy experts and environmental groups have since expressed strong opposition in keeping the plant working. Their concerns are regarding nuclear waste and safety issues due to its proximity to seismic fault lines. In addition, they also say it could delay necessary investments in renewable energy.
