Disruptive storm rolls through Santa Ynez Valley
Published Jan. 17: The second huge storm within a week came through Santa Ynez Valley starting late Sunday, Jan. 8, and continuing through Monday, Jan. 9, causing road closures, school and business closures, and shelter-inplace orders and evacuations due to the resultant flooding. The resulting flooding near the Santa Ines Mission caused the cancellation of the annual Solvang tree burn in early January.
