Colorado PGA Members Stepped Up to Support Colorado PGA REACH During this Day of Giving
December 8 ~ Colorado Gives Day 2020. This is a day when all Coloradans come together to support non-profits in our state, one of which is our own Colorado PGA REACH Foundation.
With a goal to raise $30,000 for the Foundation, this year a call went out to unite our fellow Colorado PGA Professionals to rally around the cause by joining The 100 Club. The 100 Club called for Members to show their support by donating at least $100. And, many did just that … and more … achieving nearly $35,000 in contributions for the programs of Colorado PGA REACH.
“We want to thank all of you who found the means to support Colorado PGA REACH,” comments Cathy Matthews-Kane, PGA, Colorado Section Vice President and Officer Representative on the Colorado PGA REACH Board. “The programs of Colorado PGA REACH are wide-ranging and touch the lives of so many, from our youth and our veterans to providing an all-inclusive environment for diverse populations.”
CEO/Executive Director of the Colorado Section, Eddie Ainsworth, PGA, is always in awe of the Colorado PGA family. “Even in this climate of uncertainty, when called upon, Colorado PGA Members never fail. Some gave more, while others gave what they were able, but every contribution is greatly appreciated showing that the spirit of giving is definitely alive and well in the Colorado PGA community. For our first time ever to ask our Colorado PGA Members to join The 100 Club, more than 50 Members contributed over $7,000.”

It’s Scholarship Application Time
Colorado PGA and PGA of America Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Program is available now for 2021-22 students.
The 2021 Colorado PGA and PGA of America Financial Assistance Scholarship application is available. Children and grandchildren of PGA Members who will be attending college in the Fall of 2021 are encouraged to apply for a PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship.
The Colorado Section and the PGA of America continue their charitable commitment to higher education by providing scholarships to golfers and non-golfers alike. Since 2008, Colorado college students have been the recipients of more than $391,000 in funding to assist them with their higher education aspirations – more than $229,000 from the Section and $162,000 from the PGA of America.
The two programs work together to award college scholarships to the family members of PGA Professionals. To apply for one or both of the scholarship opportunities, all students must complete the PGA of America application, click here.
All Colorado applicants who qualify, whether they receive PGA of America funding or not, will be eligible to be considered for financial aid from the Colorado Section. Remember, Colorado students must complete all of the requirements of the PGA of America application to be eligible for a Colorado Section Scholarship.
