Colorado Section Announces PGA Jr. League Championship Schedule

As the golf season in the Colorado Section starts to ramp up, we are excited to share the details about the PGA Jr. League Colorado Section Championship for 2021! Participation in PGA Jr. League has been outstanding this year, and we are looking at a record number of eligible leagues that can create an All-Star team. This season we are excited to host for the very first time a 17U Championship! We hope to see all our leagues make an All-Star team this year.

13U PGA Jr. League Colorado Section Championship Saturday, August 21, 2021 - Qualifying Round Sunday, August 22, 2021 - Final Four & Finals Pinery Country Club - Parker, CO

17U PGA Jr. League Colorado Section Championship Sunday, August 22, 2021 - All Teams Welcome Pinery Country Club - Parker, CO

Format

Section Championship (13U) Competition Day 1 (8/21) - Will utilize the “Stroke Play” scramble format with two-player pairs playing a 9-hole scramble in order to contribute to a team aggregate total. Team aggregate totals are used to determine which teams will advance to the final four. The best three out of four scores will count toward the team total.

Competition Day 2 (8/22) - The top 4 teams by the aggregate score from day 1 will compete in single-elimination match play. A 9-hole semi-final will be played in the morning, and a 9-hole final will be played in the afternoon. The winning team will advance to the Regional Championship.

Section Championship (17U) All eligible 17U leagues can send an All-Star team to the Section Championship. August 22 - Will utilize the “Stroke Play” scramble format with two-player pairs playing a 9-hole scramble in order to contribute to a team aggregate total. The best two out of three scores will count toward the team total. The team with the lowest team score will advance to the Regional Championship.

Rules, Eligibility, & Course Setup

In Brief: • 13u All-Star Teams consist of 8 players who must be no younger than 10 years of age and no older than 13 years of age as of July 31, 2021. • 17u All-Star Teams consist of 6 players who must be no younger than 14 years of age and no older than 17 years of age as of July 31, 2021.

Teeing Area: • Boys 11-under and Girls 13-under will play from the FORWARD (CIRCLE) tees • Boys 12-15 and Girls 14-over will play from the MIDDLE (SQUARE) tees • Boys 16-older will play from the BACK (TRIANGLE) tees.

In 2020 we were only able to host a local PGA Jr. League Colorado Section Championship. This year, we are excited to return to an official National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season. We hope all of our PGA Jr. League Captains, Coaches, and Players have an exciting regular season, and we look forward to seeing many of you at The Pinery in August! The competition will be tighter than ever this year, and we hope to see a Colorado team in the National Finals live on ESPN this year!
