My Fellow PGA Professionals,
Pride/prīd/, a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated with.

The above definition clearly sums up my feelings after reviewing this month’s SUMMIT Magazine. With the turn of just about every page I couldn’t help but feel proud of the achievements of our Colorado PGA Family. I’ve always been a big fan of Alice Plain, our 2021 Golf Professional of the Year, but after reading her story, I’m an even bigger fan. To read about all she has accomplished despite being a female in a male dominated industry is inspiring. Not only has Alice found success, but she also takes the time to mentor others. She is a true leader that leads by example. An example we all should strive to follow. I’d like to add my congratulations to all our Award Winners this year. You make us all very proud!
Several years ago, we had a vision to rebrand our Section’s Foundation. Through our Board of Director’s leadership, the decision was made to recruit a Board of Trustees outside of our Colorado PGA Professionals to help us spread the word of what we are accomplishing through the game of golf and help us grow financial support. I am proud to inform you that our Trustees hit it out of the park on July 21st during our Annual Colorado PGA REACH Invitational at The Golf Club at Bear Dance, and we were able to net just over $90,000.00 for our Foundation!
Today our Colorado PGA Professionals, along with the Colorado Section and our Foundation, Colorado PGA REACH, are accomplishing some quite amazing things through the game of golf. What once was a vision, is now turning into a reality. As more and more people hear about what we are doing, support for our programs continue to grow.
I am so very thankful and proud to be a PGA Member of the Colorado Section!
My sincerest thanks for the opportunity to serve all of you. I’m excited for what the future has in store for us, and I look forward to seeing each of you soon at one of our upcoming Championships, or one of our Fall Membership
Meetings. Please remember to always reach out if we can ever assist you.
Straight Down the Middle.
Very Respectfully,
Eddie Ainsworth, PGA
