Aromachology is the study of the influence of odors on human behavior and to examine the relationship between feelings and emotions brought about by odors stimulating the olfactory pathways in the brain and, in particular, the limbic system

Aromachology

Different wearers are thought to have unique physiological and psychological responses to scents, especially those not manufactured synthetically but based on real scents. The word ‘aromachology’ is derived from ‘aroma’ and ‘physio-psychology’, the latter being the study of aroma. This term was coined in 1989 by what is now the Sense of Smell Institute (SSI), a division of The Fragrance Foundation. The SSI defines aromachology as ‘a concept based on systematic, scientific data collected under controlled conditions’. Although certain plants are known through studies in aromatherapy to have stimulating or relaxing effects, research on wider scopes of application for therapeutic purposes are still at an early stage. Aromachology devotees want to find out how psychological effects are transmitted from scent to the brain, as well as how positive behavioral effects can be induced by scent. However, despite this apparent overlapping, academic authors believe that they are distinct branches of research and application, with each having its own research methods and directions

From the point of view of creating a scent for the body, a number of aromachology practitioners and small companies interested in aromachology are focused on creating bespoke perfumes

Some cosmetic brands such as Shiseido and DĂŠclĂŠor are devoting substantial efforts to the task of finding out the beneficial properties of aromas on our sense of well-being and health.

Aromachology is considered to also encompass scents introduced to home fragrances, textiles, drawer liners and odor reducers for the home environmen

Since foods have meanings and evoke complex associations composed of memories, feelings, emotions, attitudes

Altering The foods served or selectedcould be used to guide and direct memories, recollections, and mental activities and contents

10

Thả food should subsequently strengthen, weaken, prolong, or terminate the emotion whle eaten or shortly thereafter.

Evoking

The rationale is quite simple: through conditioning, foods eaten during specific emotions

Modifying

Definition

motional

Unlike many variables relevant to food preferences, emotions are not “fixed, as are cultural backgrounds or educational levels, for example. Nor are emotions an integral part of the personality like the self-concept, which is not easily changed. If preferences go with specific emotions, as was suggested in chapter 4, and if pleasant and unpleasant emotional associations go with specific foods, then serving specific foods should increase acceptance and have a salutary effect on moods and emotions. The answer from everyday experience is yes.

13

REMAP Reed Eye Movement Acupressure Psychotherapy The REMAP process created by Steve Reed, MSW, MFT, utilizes the pathways and treatment points of the entire acupuncture system to relieve emotional distress. REMAP works with evidence based acupoints.

14

The goal of this approach is to eliminate trauma, stress and self-limiting patterns while promoting wholeness, inner harmony and higher levels of functioning. By revising our mental and emotional maps we seek to further emotional freedom and to better life’s journey. By integrating cognitive and behavioral methods with acupressure, mental and emotional distress is alleviated. REMAP provides a complete map of this acupressure/acupuncture system.

In addition, REMAP treats grief, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, stress related problems, low self esteem, shame, and relationship problems.
