Welcome to Friendly Saugerties!
Welcome to Friendly Saugerties It seems there is always something happening in Saugerties! If you love horses, Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS) offers world class equestrian shows and for the art lovers there is the Saugerties Artists Studio Tour each August and art galleries year round that have ever changing exhibits. First Fridays in the village is a monthly event you won’t want to miss; live music with delicious food served in our local restaurants with seasonal open air venues, you can just feel the excitement in the air. With such enormous diversity in our community we know there’s something for everyone. Just ask Jimmy Fallon, one of Saugerties’ favorite sons, who grew up here in friendly Saugerties! Come visit and stay awhile, we have plenty of accommodations from Diamond Mills. a world class hotel, to beautifully appointed B&Bs such as the Renwick Clifton House, many housed in historic buildings. Start your weekends with a visit to our local Farmers Market where you can buy fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, the freshest fish available, farm grown meats & dairy and excellent baked goods. All produced by Hudson Valley farms and local providers. While you’re there, grab a bite to eat, sit & chat with friends and neighbors and listen to great music. We want you to discover everything Saugerties has to offer and hope you will stop by the Saugerties Historical Society for a bit of local history or take a short drive to Opus 40 Sulpture Park or take a hike out to the Saugerties Lighthouse. You can also explore the pristine woodlands of the Esopus Creek Conservancy and the Falling Waters Preserve. For the sports minded you will love the games held at Cantine Veterans Memorial Field, home to the Saugerties Stallions (college baseball) and the Olympic size Kiwanis Ice Arena. After a busy day, kick back and enjoy a good meal at any of our outstanding restaurants serving the best of the region with farm to table goodness. Whatever your fancy, you can find it here: the best burgers, Chinese, Mexican and Italian, family style as well as elegant dining, we know you’ll be glad you had a meal at our table. On behalf of the Town and Village of Saugerties and the Saugerties Chamber of Commerce we want to thank you for discovering Saugerties!

Seamon’s Park The Park is the site of the Mum Festival, held the second Sunday of October. This highly anticipated event ushers in a month of leisurely strolls along paths lined with fall plantings, interspersed with thousands of rainbow-hued chrysanthemums. Seamon Park is the site where a sawyer operated a mill from 1652 to 1663 on a stream that forms the northern boundary of the park. An original wheel can still be seen near the site. School children donated pennies to purchase the “boy and girl under an umbrella” fountain near the front gate.
