Bristol Schools Chamber Choir, Cotham Secondary School

Bristol Senior Music Centre, Henbury Secondary School

Friday evenings

Saturday mornings

The flagship choral centre of Bristol Plays Music, the Schools Chamber Choir develops singers from aged 7. The Junior Choir aims to foster a love of singing through helping members to read music and sing in a fun way. The Boys’ Ensemble explores close harmony, barbershop and other male musical styles. The Girls’ Choir repertoire ranges from classical works to light-hearted arrangements of popular songs. The Senior Choirs regularly join up to perform mixed vocal repertoire.

The Senior Centre houses the biggest collection of ensembles that BPM run, and has an excellent reputation in the city for producing talented musicians. Pupils have the opportunity to progress through the groups as their playing develops. Rehearsals are split between ensemble playing and sectional work, working towards performances three times a year in venues including Colston Hall, the Victoria Rooms and St Georges Bristol. Group
