NYC Residential Summer

FOR STUDENTS 16 OR OLDER

NYC Residential Summer is an opportunity to experience life on an Ivy League campus while choosing from more than 70 courses in a dozen different subject areas. Residential students will also participate in supervised excursions to experience the vibrant art and culture of New York, a city unlike any other in the world.

NYC Commuter Summer

FOR 9TH–12TH GRADERS

Rising 9th graders through current 12th graders may enroll in either our 1-week or our 3-week commuter program. About 40% of our program participants live off campus and commute to Morningside Heights, where they may enjoy our many campus resources, such as our world-class libraries, physical fitness center, and Alfred Lerner Hall student center.

FOR 9TH–12TH GRADERS

Rising 9th graders through current 12th graders delve into their academic interests in a highly interactive curriculum designed specifically for online learning. Workshops and co-curricular programming are designed to build community with your peers and instructors from around the globe. Online courses are taught synchronously.

Online Summer Program Options

Academic Year Weekend

FOR 9TH–12TH GRADERS

Students in grades 9 through 12 may select up to four courses in the fall and/or spring. Courses take place online for two hours total on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays (morning, afternoon, or evening). Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are scheduled either before or after class.

College Edge

FOR 11TH–12TH GRADERS

The College Edge program allows exceptional high school students in grades 11 through 12 to enroll in semester-long college courses and study alongside Columbia University undergraduate students in this in-person commuter program.

Differentiate Yourself

Pre-College Program students earn a Columbia Certification of Participation and receive an individualized letter of evaluation describing their participation and progress in their course.

College Edge students earn college credits and a Columbia University transcript.
