Fearfully and Wonderfully Made “All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small; All things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.” We’ve all sung the words of Cecil Frances Humphreys Alexander’s hymn, written in 1848 in Ireland. It reminds us that this world and its inhabitants didn’t evolve by some natural phenomenon or explosion, but that God, in His wisdom, carefully, lovingly and thoughtfully created us all. Humans have identified some 800,000 species so far, and more are discovered every day on God’s vast Earth. In forming His creation, God thought of everything. Think of the giraffes, whose long necks help them reach tall trees; how the elephant’s trunk can reach for cool water to shower its back; how the anenome protect those who feed them; and how the kangaroo has a built-in pouch to carry her young. God also gave each one a purpose, a function, a role. The scavengers clean the Earth; the dogs, cats and horses bring us joy and companionship; and the birds awake early in the morning to sing praises to their Creator, as if to remind us to praise too. The Psalmist says, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” (Ps. 139:14, NKJV). In this year’s calendar, we celebrate some of God’s creation, great and small, because it reminds us of His marvelous works, His loving kindness, His thoughtfulness and that He alone is worthy to be praised. No walls. No borders. No limits. Adventist World Radio (AWR) is the official global radio ministry of the Seventhday Adventist Church. Its mission is to broadcast the Adventist hope in Christ to the unreached people groups of the world in their own languages. AWR’s programs can be heard in nearly 100 languages through AM/FM and shortwave radio, on demand, and podcasts at awr.org and iTunes.
Radio reaches more people, for less money, than any other form of evangelism. AM/FM:
Reaching the cities
Shortwave:
Reaching across barriers of geography & gov’t restrictions to enter difficult areas
Podcasts & On demand:
Reaching the world through the Internet
Shortwave Coverage Wertachtal & Nauen, Germany Issoudun, France

AWR ministry highlights: AWR’s AM/FM/SW programs can potentially be heard by 70 to 80 percent of the world’s population; podcasts and on demand can be accessed worldwide, anywhere there is Internet service. AWR broadcasts to at least 40 of the 50 countries in the world with the highest persecution of Christians. Russian programs are carried on more than 1,500 FM stations across Russia.
AWR broadcasts 10 hours of Mandarin programs each day across China. At the Hong Kong Media Center, full-time Internet evangelists communicate with listeners through e-mail, instant messages, and video chats. Well over 200 million AWR podcasts were downloaded in the past 12 months. AWR also distributes solar/hand-crank radios and MegaVoice audio players in countries such as Sudan, the Philippines, Nepal, Mexico, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, and more.
Invite your neighbor: Visit awr.org/invite to download and print PDF podcast invitations – in multiple languages – to share with your non-English-speaking neighbors. An AWR listener in the Middle East writes:

“For a few months now, my family and I have been listening to each one of your programs. They make our hearts come alive again. In our city and country that has been torn apart by war, where there is no peace or trust among the people, where everyone is worried if they can keep themselves alive for one more day, the message of Jesus Christ is our only
