Life Lessons From Animal Companions
“All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all.

Life Lessons
Your Columbia Union Conference Communication Team
We applaud the efforts of our communication interns, Kylie Kajiura and Oksana Wetmore, who led in the creation, writing and design of this year’s calendar, and we hope you will enjoy it, too.
Whether your best animal friend is a horse, dog, cat or hermit crab, God created each one—big and small— and by caring for them, we can learn more about Him, more about ourselves and more about life. As the psalmist declared, “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” (Ps. 139:14, NKJV).
s a young pastor’s wife in 19th century England, Cecil Frances Humphreys Alexander wrote the words to the hymn above while trying to teach children about the God of the universe. Her lyrics, which describe God’s creations, provide a suitable introduction to this year’s Columbia Union Calendar, themed “Life Lessons from Animal Companions.”
Lesson #19: You can fly higher if you let go of what is weighing you down.
