Let the

Children Come

T

he Bible is chock full of stories about people of all ages that we can relate to and experiences that make us laugh and cry. Such stories teach us about God’s great love and plan of salvation. They also teach practical life lessons that keep us grounded and prophecy that keeps our focus heavenward.

This year’s calendar features artwork submitted by children from Seventh-day Adventist churches across the Columbia Union Conference who illustrated their favorite Bible stories. We wish that we had space to include all 111 submissions, but throughout the year we hope to feature as many of them as possible on our social media accounts, websites and weekly electronic newsletter. You don’t want to miss these beautiful creations! So, please follow us on: facebook.com/columbiaunionvisitor, twitter.com/visitornews and instagram.com/ columbiaunionvisitor. Subscribe to the Visitor News Bulletin at columbiaunionvisitor.com/vnb. May we all enjoy the beautiful expressions of childlike faith, and may they keep God’s Word fresh in our minds and at the forefront of our daily lives. Courage, Your Columbia Union Conference Executive Officer Team

We are thankful for this year’s calendar sponsor, WGTS 91.9 FM, our radio and media ministry in the Washington, D.C., area that reaches more than half a million listeners. This mission-focused ministry spearheads a number of initiatives— on- and off-air—to introduce listeners to Jesus, encourage them with His message of hope and wholeness and help them experience a better life. From special concerts and worship programs to service initiatives and a prayer network, this team extends our ministry by reaching and engaging people who don’t come to our churches. Learn more at wgts919.com, and watch a video linked to the back cover of this calendar.

About the Columbia Union Conference The Columbia Union Conference, established in 1907 to coordinate the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s work in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, is part of the worldwide Protestant denomination of 20 million members in more than 200 countries. At the union level, we connect and provide administrative leadership, governance and support services to our conferences, schools, healthcare networks and ministries. Each year our organizations sponsor dozens of programs and projects that address human need, improve quality of life and introduce people to Jesus.

Great stories bring hope. And we are so grateful when our listeners call and share their stories with us. Stories of how they found hope and strength through WGTS 91.9: like an Ellicott City business owner who lost her store to floodwaters, like a mother who is beside her two children through multiple medical surgeries, and like a listener who has received a terminal cancer diagnosis. One listener says, “God has really used WGTS in my life to convey his message to me. I know that he’s going to take care of me, no matter what obstacles come my way.”
